Looks like Wall (and the Wizards?) are done for the year. Our boy Trevor just can't catch a break this season.

The Wizards are just a mess. Wouldn't want to have their roster and their cap obligations going forward. It's too bad; they looked poised to be one of the East's top teams for years, but now they're on the outside.

Rozier and Brown for our protected first pick and JJ ?
Yeah, that was a weird suggestion from Damon Jones. I don't see the value in that suggestion for Boston. They are so close to contention, I don't understand acquiring a future asset for Jaylen Brown. Rozier? Sure. But Brown is too good, even in the midst of a down year, to try to flip for a future asset.

Keep seeing rumors that Ben Simmons might not be in Philly long term because of his fit. Anyone have interest in him? I love his game, jumpshot aside. But a true pass first PG and triple double threat everynight who could make the game a lot easier for Booker and Ayton.

I mean, of course I'm interested in him. But the problem is that we would have to give up real value to get him. Probably our 1st-round pick this year and another valuable asset or two. They would want Ayton or Booker. Not sure how we could come up with a trade that they'd actually want to accept where we keep both Booker and Ayton.

They’d want Booker, I don’t think they’d want Ayton. I’d move our first no problem for him, but that wouldn’t get it done. I don’t really see us being an option for him. They’d want a pg in return, which we don’t have. We wouldn’t give up Booker. Unless we landed 1st overall, I don’t think there is any chance we could get a deal done.

Wait. Where are you hearing those rumors? Is it just because he can't shoot well yet? That stuff takes time and he does pretty much everything else at an elite level.

Right. I'd be really surprised if Philly is ready to move on from Simmons.

I heard on a podcast somewhere, probably bill simmons, that he wouldn’t be surprised if philly moved Simmons at some point. He made a point that it was just a hunch, but he thinks philly is Embiid’s team and Simmons won’t last long there.

But Simmons seems to have no problem deferring to Embiid, I dont get it.

I think those rumors are just stirred up by the hot-take crowd. There's no real evidence of Simmons wanting out or him not getting along with Embiid.

I've seen a few articles talking about his jumper, the overall fit of Simmons/Butler/Embiid plus some cap implications so just threw it out there.

While I'm sure the Sixers would want Booker, I don't think they could manage it financially if they're maxing Butler out at around 190mil and have Embiid signed for 150mil already. That's why a 3rd or 4th pick this year plus a future pick and a combo of our swings might work for them. Jackson/Bridges are still on cheap rookie deals and won't command Simmons' money or they can take TJ locked in at 12mil.

I think Ainge is hoping to make a package deal for the brow. They have a lot of talent to send over.
I wonder what deal would let Ainge part with Rozier?

AD with Stevens is a downright scary combination, that's a Pop/Duncan combo that would win multiple titles IMO.

The Pelicans should make a deal with Boston if they are going to make a deal. Boston has the assets. Pelicans need to do what is best for the team. Get at least two young players and three picks.

Pelicans can’t trade with Boston until the summer. You can only have one designated max player at a time...Kyrie is that player for Boston, so they’d have to wait until his contract expires.

Just a thought...does this mean we can’t give Ayton a 5 year max with Booker on the roster?

Did Wiggins get the same 5 year max? What did minny do with KAT? Am I understanding this rule correctly?

I do know that I heard Boston can’t trade for AD until summer.

I believe it's that they can't trade for two max players and they've already traded for Irving.

So it’s specifically trading for one. Gotta believe regardless they’ll wait until summer. Even if they don’t trade him to Boston, you need the Boston offer or at least threat of an offer to drive up the price for AD
