this is an early injury report and his status can always change but obviously this would be a big deal since he's been lights out this season/month

The Thunder are on a 2-game losing streak and 5-5 over their last 10, with recent losses to the Bulls, Pelicans, and Timberwolves. They're definitely beatable, but we need to match or exceed their energy level if we hope to win. Ayton needs to rebound like a mofo. Warren and Booker both need to have solid offensive performances. JJ and Oubre need to minimize their mistakes.

Let’s hope the third time’s the charm for DeAndre and friends finding a way to stop this guy.

Let's hope Adams has to worry about that just as much as Ayton:

We played them 3 times in our first 15 games--here are Ayton's numbers up to that point.

Code: Select all

MP FG FGA FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS GmSc +/-
32.7 7.2 11.9 .603 1.9 2.5 .763 2.5 8.0 10.5 2.8 0.7 0.7 2.1 2.7 16.3 14.6 -4.8
Here are the 20 games since then

Code: Select all

MP FG FGA FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS GmSc +/-
29.7 7.2 12.1 .595 1.9 2.5 .776 3.3 7.9 11.2 1.9 0.6 1.3 1.8 3.1 16.3 14.9 -4.9
And here are the 6 games since Booker came back (these numbers are just effing crazy)

Code: Select all

MP FG FGA FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS GmSc +/-
31.9 8.8 13.3 .663 2.7 3.2 .842 5.5 9.5 15.0 1.3 0.7 1.3 2.0 3.2 20.3 20.3 1.2
Side note--If he could ever keep up what he has done these last few games for a season (20 & 15) he would join 14 guys to ever do that. And only 2 are not in the Hall (Love and Truck Robinson).

I could see him settling in as a 22 & 12 guy. 15 rebs a game is pretty crazy to do and thus the elite company he'd be in.

Yea the whole "TJ can be our PF averaging 5rbs a game because Ayton will grab 15" argument doesn't fly with me. We're 28th in the league in rebounds, 25th in blocks, 27th in defensive rating, 22nd in opponents 2nd chance points and 29th in opponents points in the paint. That's not all on TJ and those numbers are probably skewed from our bad start at the beginning of the season but you get the picture.

Luckily, DeAndre is on the Mavericks and won't have to worry about this one. Deandre on the other hand...

What Indy said.

Yeah, I'd think the blocks must be steadily increasing between Holmes and Ayton's block party as of late. Also, our new addition Oubre Jr. is pretty good at it.

Do you guys realize that this is Kelly Oubre Jr.'s first Phoenix Suns home game? Let's hope the crowd gives him a warm reception.

He played his ass off coming to a new team on a big road trip. He should get a nice welcome.

I think 50% of the crowd will, anyway.
