Around the League: Week 14 1/14-1/20
Re: Around the League: Week 14 1/14-1/20
At this point I might send Ayton, TJ and anyone else not named Booker to get AD. Take the chance on pairing him with Book and build around those two. Add a 3rd guy in free agency. Can't imagine NO turning that down.

He wants to go to a team that gives him a chance to win a championship.

You'd do it without AD signing a contract extension when his agent is Rich Paul? That's a bit crazy.ShelC wrote: At this point I might send Ayton, TJ and anyone else not named Booker to get AD. I'd make that AD trade at the very least to show Booker we're committed to putting talent around him. Otherwise, I think he'll be looking to get out next year if things continue as is. Book and AD are tight, we can send Ayton while he's still got a ton of upside, move TJs deal and maybe Bridges or Jackson. Keep Oubre because I think Book, Oubre, AD are a good fit together and still have space for a FA in the offseason. If AD leaves, hey we tried and we'd be in a position to get a high draft pick again.

Yeah, I think having Booker and AD suddenly makes anyone a favorable FA destination. Maybe Kemba Walker would think about signing with us in the offseason?ShelC wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:33 amI'd make that AD trade at the very least to show Booker we're committed to putting talent around him. Booker should be texting/recruiting AD as we type these posts.
It's obviously risky, especially trading for AD with no extension and then signing a PG like Kemba longterm. If AD leaves you got Kemba and Booker on long term deals and no bigs going forward. But at this point, we gotta be bold.

I saw someone comment on twitter that Windhorst said that if the Knicks get the #1 pick, they could get a deal for AD done.ShelC wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:33 amI'd make that AD trade at the very least to show Booker we're committed to putting talent around him. Hey we need a PF right?
Re: Around the League: Week 14 1/14-1/20
If we strike out on AD, which we will, we should go hard for Jrue Holiday.
Re: Around the League: Week 14 1/14-1/20
Jrue would be nice, but I think they really like him. I would guess that being able to pry Lonzo in a 3 way deal might be easier, but idk.

So, just to recap: trading Josh Jackson for Kyrie Irving who had 2 years on his contract was dumb because Kyrie would just leave Phoenix after the 2 years. But trading Ayton and other assets for AD who would stay here for 3 months is a great idea?

I think the only way that the Suns get AD is if they do it at the draft and they win the lottery. I think the Suns could get AD if they trade away the rights to Zion. Besides, you would get AD for 1 year and have that time to convince him to resign in Phx.

So many things wrong with this post. We don’t need to talk about the kyrie trade again, that’s been talked to death, but to simply say it’s josh Jackson for kyrie is a huge understatement, not to mention kyrie did not want to play here.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 10:25 amSo, just to recap: trading Josh Jackson for Kyrie Irving who had 2 years on his contract was dumb because Kyrie would just leave Phoenix after the 2 years. Also, AD is a tier above kyrie. You take risks when you can get an mvp level player in his age 25 season. Also, AD isn’t a free agent until 2020. We’d have him 1.5 years and could flip him next year if he doesn’t want to sign.
Re: Around the League: Week 14 1/14-1/20
I think you definitely could, but I wouldn’t do it. I’d take Zion. Now if you could build a package around Ayton and put Booker/Zion/AD together....sign me up!
Re: Around the League: Week 14 1/14-1/20
Looks like Mirotic, Randle and Johnson were made available this past weekend for picks. I think they are trying to clear their roster for the AD trade, which should also bring in players.
Can the Suns get in on the AD trade and get Lonzo, or just go for getting Conley and Mirotic before the trade deadline?

You know the NBA is wacky when Marquese Chriss can demand a trade.

He will be playing in China by next year, trying to rebuild his image and value. Clearly not quite one of the best ever, that we were sold by Watson.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 3:37 pmYou know the NBA is wacky when Marquese Chriss can demand a trade.
