I mean I wouldn't mind adding another two guard, if he was only making 20 dollars a year.

To be clear, do you mean 0.1 out of 10, or 0.1 million out of ten?

I’d rather have Brandon Knight at least he was an AASE

Cap space update:
I just checked and as we currently stand, we will have 18 million in cap space this summer. This includes cap holds on Holmes and Oubre and does not include Daniels, Benders, Crawford’s or Ellington’s holds. It also does not include our draft pick. That pick will drop us 5-8 million in space. So 10-13 million.
If we renounce the rights to Oubre, we jump up to 20-23 million. Renouncing Holmes is pretty pointless as his cap hold is just 1.6 million.
If we trade our draft pick, renounce our rights to Oubre and waive and stretch Johnson, we can get close to 40 million in space.
Will be curious to see what we do.

Whichever road we choose, I have no doubt we'll do it poorly.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 10:31 amCap space update:

Probably a good bet. An idea I’ve been thinking about is using our 18 million in space to bring in a player via trade for our draft pick. Assuming we don’t land #1.
What guys around 18 million would be available? You could also renounce Oubre and bring in a contract up to 28 million. I haven’t spent a lot of time thinking about who I’d trade for, but Aaron Gordon came to mind as an option. Would you trade our 1st for Aaron Gordon? Would Orlando do that?

Re: Suns News: Week 16 1/28-2/3
We'd still need a PG to utilize Gordon/Ayton properly, someone to get them easy shots. Gordon is on a solid deal IMO, he's also definitely worth a 1st depending on where we land.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 10:40 amProbably a good bet. Ya the pg situation would still be a problem...not sure how we’d solve that if we use up our cap space and our draft pick on Gordon.
I think if you make that trade for Gordon, you have to renounce Oubre and that gives you about 8-9 more million to spend on a pg. Can you get anything good for that?

8ish million probably puts you in the 1 year stop gap contract range for guys like Collison, Lin. You could go after TJ McConnell, Rondo, Payton
Re: Suns News: Week 16 1/28-2/3
I think Gordon is the type of guy you trade for to guarantee mediocrity. Even with a really good PG, I don't think he's the answer at PF.
Crazy thought and I kinda hate myself for thinking it....would anyone consider trading Booker for Beal in the offseason?

Nobody worth a damn unfortunately, unless you can obtain a guy like Tyus Jones or something, but no way they get a starting NBA PG for 9mSplit T wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 10:46 amYa the pg situation would still be a problem...not sure how we’d solve that if we use up our cap space and our draft pick on Gordon.

Thats a wash. We still have the same problem areas.
Jones and Vogel gotta go.
Re: Suns News: Week 16 1/28-2/3
Beal's grown on me and he's much more of a hard nosed combo guard who can breakdown a defense with better quickness than Booker while still being an outside threat. I think he'd be better for the our young swings and Ayton and maybe bring some leadership we're still lacking.

Re: Suns News: Week 16 1/28-2/3
Gordon is on a pretty good deal. If he’s your 3rd or 4th guy I think he makes sense. I think I’d rather have someone next to Ayton that adds some rim protection, but AG is definitely a better 4 than anyone we have now.

Re: Suns News: Week 16 1/28-2/3
Ya, I almost think you’d have to just sign a stop gap solution like collison and then work the trades during the season. Warren + Tyler Johnson’s contract would give you 30 million to spend.Sad Suns Fan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 10:54 amNobody worth a damn unfortunately, unless you can obtain a guy like Tyus Jones or something, but no way they get a starting NBA PG for 9mSplit T wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 10:46 amYa the pg situation would still be a problem...not sure how we’d solve that if we use up our cap space and our draft pick on Gordon.

I would be open to that deal. I'd ask for Bayless for his expiring deal and a lottery protected pick, or a 2nd rounder plus Keita Bates-Diop.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.
