Haven't seen details yet but I like Johnson a lot. He can be a real solid guard for us at both spots.

Ryan Anderson is going to the Heat, per Gambo. He doesn't think any picks are involved.

Better just be Ryan Anderson and maybe a 2nd.

What player would you say he is a poor’s man version?

Tyler Johnson was good when i last saw him. But that was at least a year ago. Played with high intensity on defense.

Tyler Johnson's a good player, just doesn't fit a need. Net - we traded a player who can't play for a player who can. This is OK.

It’s just Ryan Anderson for Tyler Johnson....nothing to see here. No reason to be upset

Tyler Johnson is TERRIBLE. Huge negative on defense, doesn't distribute, very "meh" shooter. Doesn't address any of our needs at PG, particularly because he's an awful distributor. 2.5 apg in 25 mpg.

Blech.

Oh, and he kills our cap space this summer.

We're going to learn to loathe him very quickly.

It seemed nobody here wanted Dragic. But would you rather pay $19 million next season to Dragic or Tyler Johnson? At least Dragic is actually a point guard.

Maybe you can get him to forfeit his player option this summer. That would create mayor cap space.

He's owed $3M more in guaranteed money than Anderson. If we need the space, we can stretch him at $1.2M more of a cap hit than Anderson would have had.

ALL WE GAVE UP WAS RYAN ANDERSON. We don’t lose cap space because Ryan Anderson was taking that up anyways. And everyone would have been fine with a Ryan Anderson for Dragic swap.

This may also be a precursor to moving Josh Jackson.

Tyler Johnson will immediately be our new starting point guard, per Gambo.

They don't call him Meth Curry for nothing.

Wayne Ellington also coming to Phoenix in the deal, per Gambo.

All valid points. Seems like it’s a good deal and smart risk only if for Anderson.

So we have to be giving up another player also for salaries to work! Who is it?

EDIT: Never mind, it works with just those three apparently.

Gotta think we’ll move Ellington somewhere else. He’s useful. Miami obviously just trying to get out of luxury tax land.
