Game Day: Suns (11-48) @ Cavaliers (12-46), Thurs 2/21/19
Time: 5:00 pm AZ (4:00 pm PT/7:00 pm ET)
Place: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH
TV: FSAZ/NBALP
Suns need to seize their opportunity and either win tonight in Cleveland or their next game in Atlanta. Otherwise, that losing streak could get even uglier! Let's hope we see a revitalized team after the all-star break rather than the sad sack Suns who got embarrassed back to back leading into the break.
Go Suns!!!

At 15, we’ve already tied the franchise record, set late last season. The worst:

On the other hand, that team ended up being hella fun and making the playoffs. IINM, the only NBA team ever to have a double-digit losing streak and double-digit winning streak in the same season.

Re: Game Day: Suns (11-48) @ Cavaliers (12-46), Thurs 2/21/19
10-game losing streaks under each owner -
1968-87 - Richard Bloch - 5 in 19 seasons (2 were in the 1968-69 expansion season)
1987-04 - Jerry Colangelo - 2 in 17 seasons
2004-19 - Robert Sarver - 7 in 15 seasons
1968-19 - 14 in 51 seasons
Won-lost record under each owner -
1968-87 - Richard Bloch - 783-775, .503 (Bloch/J. Colangelo - 783-775, .503)
1987-04 - Jerry Colangelo - 799-563 .587 (1987-1994 - J. Colangelo - 363-211, .632; 1994-04 - J. Colangelo/B. Colangelo - 436-352, .553)
2004-15 - Robert Sarver - 596-595, .500 (2004-12 - Saver/J. Colangelo - 405-235, .632; 2012-19 - Sarver/no J. Colangelo - 191-360, .347)
1968-19 - 2178-1933, .530
Things have cratered since Colangelo officially left his position as Chairman in 2012 (his time as CEO ended in 2007). Not exactly shocking news to any of us I'm sure.
If you give Sarver credit for everything since 2007-08 when Kerr became GM and Colangelo's time as CEO ended their record is 419-532, .441 (following the three-year Sarver/Colangelo stint from 2004-07 with Jerry as CEO when they went 177-69, .720).
Sarver basically took a team that averaged 59 wins a year from 2004-07 and turned it into one that has averaged 29 wins per 82 games from 2012-19.

The 23 he has in those 7 years account for 33% of all >4 game losing streaks we have had in 51 years of existence (and this season isn't over yet).

This is what stands out to me. Hard to believe that Sarver has been owner of the Suns almost as long as Colangelo now. Depressing. We had some fun rides under Colangelo's watch. Sarver? Not so much. The Bobster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 7:41 am1987-04 - Jerry Colangelo - 2 in 17 seasons

Though Knight actually has some good numbers in the 43 minutes he has played for the Cavs so far.

Also can we talk about what the hell is going on with TJ? This seems to be more serious than just ankle soreness. You don’t miss a month of games with just ankle soreness. Seems like he’s missed a billion games. Have they done any MRIs? This isn’t good.

He always misses a billion games with seemingly minor injuries that the team never gives updates on.

I hope Melton being back means we've seen the last of regular rotation minutes for Crawford. There's just no upside to playing him over Melton/Okobo any more.
