I did want to say, though, that Tyler Johnson had a really strong game. I have been crapping on him since he arrived, saying we shouldn't have traded for him. Scoring 29 points on 10-16 shooting is pretty impressive.

Much like Oubre, he usually plays with an energy that is obvious the losing culture of the franchise has yet to infect.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 1:30 amI did want to say, though, that Tyler Johnson had a really strong game. Oubre and Bridges killed us shooting the ball. Oubre nearly made up for his shooting with two great defensive plays in the 4th that extended the lead before we gave it right back up.
I thought Jackson played OK when he got minutes but was hurt by foul trouble. He started at PF but was assigned to Dedmon defensively because Dedmon is more of a perimeter player. Even so, he just can't play inside as a big. Thought he had some good moments in the 1st half.
Ayton was engaged and getting shots early, nowhere to be seen late. We were feeding him in the post and he was working inside. He's pretty much unstoppable around the basket because of his size and touch. I do wonder if all the PnR is wearing him out over the course of the game. It's one thing for a big to run block to block for offense or defense, it's another for a big like Ayton to constantly be in motion, running down on offense to the low block, then running up to the 3pt line for a screen and rolling damn near every play. Not trying to make excuses and bigs play PnR all the time now. Just seems like Ayton is getting fatigued.
We did well not going with PointBooker most of the game but went with it down the stretch, maybe to ensure we lose? I don't know...I thought Johnson was fine and Melton looked OK too. Booker is just awful at point and tends to grind the offense to a halt in general. As soon as he touches the ball it's like he automatically backs it out 30 ft waiting for a screen just to get doubled and make a bad pass or turn the ball over. Don't get why he's allowed to still run offense.
Tyler Johnson had his breakout game for us. He's not nearly as bad as he's looked since he got here. He's a player and we look immediately better with him out there. If he can keep knocking down shots, we'll get a win soon. Just need everything to come together with him and the other guys. But he's an NBA guard, defends, hustles and brings a speed at PG we've been lacking. And coming from Miami, you know he's tough and been coached up.

I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t think he had it in him. He actually has a pulse. Good for him.
Tyler Johnson also didn’t suck. Wild.
Nothing else really good to say about this game. 17 in a row. Yippee

If he had gotten himself tossed out it might have actually motivated the players enough to actually win. Instead, he looked like he was ashamed of himself after one technical.

This game seemed like a lot of other games. Play well until half way through the fourth and suck to close out the game.
