Yeah, it is really depressing how far he has sunk this year on 3s. But he is 39.3% on catch and shoot 3s.
Booker has added a lot to his game since he entered the league, but the thing I hope most for him this offseason is to improve his jumpshot. He can’t be an elite offensive player for us unless he’s hitting 3’s at around 40%
We’ve actually got some pretty winnable games to close out the year...going 5-6 in our final 11 gets us to 22. I think we can do that...I’d take the over
still feel that way after last night? I think the over/under at 21.5 is about right.
I think 5-5 is doable still. Last night was one of the more winnable games, so it was not great to get a loss. Still, my overall feeling of the team didn’t change. I think that game would have been much different if Johnson, Oubre, and Holmes played. I’d guess they’ll be back soon and I’m expecting us to continue to play well.
I agree though, 21.5 seems about right. 22 or 21 wins seems like the two likeliest final win totals to me.

I'm not concerned about Devin's jumper. He's handling the ball too much and shooting tough shots off the dribble or with the defense focused solely on him. Some of it is shot selection but when he's left open in catch and shoots, he's deadly. It's like when Joe Johnson hit near 48% from 3 when he was playing next to Nash and didn't crack 40% from three for the next 8 years because he was handling the ball so much and ISO'ing in Atlanta.

I don’t need him to be steph curry, but I’d like him to be Paul George or Damian lillard, or Kyrie Irving. Those guys shoot between 37-40% from 3 and take the same difficult 3’s that booker takes. 32% is not good.

I think those guys are better/quicker at driving the ball so the defense gives more space to guard against penetration. Devin isn't a lightning quick guy and isn't even that great of a ball handler.
And what's their respective 3PT% off the dribble vs catch and shoot? Devin's almost 40% catch and shoot and how often has he had those opportunities? He even had a joke after one of Tyler Johnson's first games that the catch and shoot 3 he hit was his first of the season.

Lillard is 40% on catch and shoot, 36% on pull ups
George is 40% on catch and shoot, 39% on pull ups
Kyrie is 44.5% on catch and shoot, 38% on pull ups
Curry is 43% on catch and shoot, 42% on pull ups
Booker is 39% on catch and shoot, 28% on pull ups
So his catch and shoot is fine, he’s been bad on pull ups

As for number...curry takes 6 catch and shoot 3’s a game
George takes 5
Kyrie takes 3
Lillard and booker average 2.6.
Booker just takes less 3’s in general though. He only takes about 6-7 a game.
I really think Ayton's defense is underrated. If you look at the clips of him in that video where they are criticizing his defense, I think a lot of time he makes the right rotation to help the guard who got blown aside, and the help behind him is not there. I think he's unfairly judged IMO.
His help defense in the paint has certainly improved since the beginning of the year, where he would stand with anchors on his feet and watch someone dunk it from the other side of the paint. I think that is not debatable.

I think that Ayton analysis is pretty much on point and echos what most have us been saying all season.
Positives:
He's very skilled offensively.
His defensive awareness has improved over the course of the season.
He seems to have it together upstairs.
Negatives:
He's not an alpha.
He under-utilizes his measurables.
He relies on others getting him the ball in favorable positions.
