I know anything is possible but do we really expect to see Igor fired? Is that actually a thing?

I don’t see it happening. The scenario where it’s possible is if we bring in a new front office guy(GM or President of Basketball Operations) that wants to bring in his own coach. I think it’s a bad look to fire a coach after 1 year when you really didn’t give him the pieces to make something work. Especially since it seems the team responded and played well for a two week stretch before injuries kinda killed the momentum.

I think the little mini winning streak recently saved his job. Don't think he did well this year, but Saver won't want to fire him yet.

I want Igor to get another season. I don’t think he did a particularly great job, but the team seemed to improve as the year went on and I’d rather not have yet another new face needing time to implement his system. I just want to see him put more of an emphasis on running through Ayton next year.

I think the progress from the start of the season until now has been noticeable. Getting rid of some personnel from earlier in the year (Ariza, Canaan) helped but you can tell guys have picked up on his system and we've had stretches of some pretty good basketball. I care whether the guys are still playing hard for him and whether we've seen progress on both sides of the ball.

Not to knock another team, but take the Knicks for example...you'd be hardpressed to find any Knicks fan who thinks they've made progress on either side of the ball this season under Fizdale. Before or after the trade, there wasn't any marked improvement, solid lineups or rotations, player development, etc.

Funny that the two other coaches we were linked to are coaching the best team and the worst team in the nba

We blew it by not getting Coach Bud. But Igor has been okay. I think others have made the good point that if he were really doing a bad job, the players would have turned on him, and they haven't. They see him much closer than any of us do. So that says something.

Maybe...but I also think it’s highly likely Bud never wanted the job. He was probably after the Milwaukee job the whole time.

Will we see TJ warren again this year? He literally will get a $500,000 contract bonus if he just attempts 5 more threes this year.

Question on that...does anyone know if that bonus would count towards this season or will it impact his salary next year as well?

He would have been out of his mind to pick the Suns over the Bucks.

100 of 100 coaching candidates would have picked the Bucks.

even if the Suns offered more (unless it was a crazy number). no question.

I can't answer your question specifically but I can offer an educated guess. Bonuses are put into 2 categories when a contract is signed. Likely to meet and unlikely to meet. Only the likely to meet bonus counts toward the cap figure. My guess is that because this is based on attempts and not made baskets it falls in the likely to meet category.

250,000 was just the attempts. The other 250,000 is if he gets the attempts and shoots over 37%...he’s at 43% so he’s not in danger of losing that. Just needs the 5 more attempts to qualify. So I guess the percentage might not be a likely one.

Sounds to me like he will come back for the final game then. All the sudden he will be able to play through the pain.

So it's written as two separate bonuses?

Gary Bender: "All of a sudden TJ Warren is available for game 82. But what's this? Coach Koko is REFUSING to play him opting instead for the recently signed Carmelo Anthony who will start at PG tonight."

Ya, that’s how I read it at least.
