How about the moron ref walking by and kicking Nurkic in the leg while he's lying on the ground?

They should have reviewed that in Secaucus.

“On review, the injury is reversed.”

What do we think about the late-season surge of Trae Young? The Hawks were roundly bashed for the draft-day trade where they gave up Luka Doncic for Young and a future 1st from the Mavs. Does it look better now? What number of pick will that future 1st likely be?

Wasn't Inf against anything to do with Trae?

You're right, Westbrook did, but comparing Trae to Westbrook would be a mistake. Honestly, if you watched him play much, he is a mix of Steve Nash and Steph Curry and no where near a Westbrook type. Who wouldn't like that on your team?
If only it were that simple. If Young can't defend, can't limit his turnovers, and is a low percentage shooter at the NBA level, then it becomes very easy to not "like that on your team."

He's an inch shorter than Nash or Curry. I'd hardly call him the size of Ulis.

He doesn't need elite athleticism. Did Nash or Curry have it? He does have elite ball handling. Not being interested in him is your prerogative, but it's short-sighted in my view.
In2 is right on these points. Young's athleticism and ball-handling are non-issues.

In2, you're killing me this offseason. First Trae Young, now John Wall? Absolutely killing me.

I just have to trust McDonough and crew that they come to the best choice possible for the Suns on June 21st.
It's funny because it's true. Hey, even you said you were encouraged by what McD said at the combine. I'll tell you right now that I'm not looking forward to draft day and seeing your big red F.
There is no way I could give the Suns an F this year. Even if they went with my least favorite prospects, like Bagley or Trae Young, at worst I would give that a D.

I believe that the best of Ayton will be displayed in the NBA, as he has range outside the post, is good passer, elite athlete, rebounder, good free throw shooter, excellent footwork in the post, and I also believe that an era of a good center will come back and be valuable again.
At the NBA level, I don't think there will be anything elite about Young.

As far as your assessment of Ayton, I don't disagree that is what he could be. (although I don't think his athleticism is elite; it's very good, but elite is a bit of a hypebole) However, I also think Ayton could just turn into a solid big that puts up good numbers, but doesn't move the needle.

23 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 6 blocks, for Christian Wood tonight. Ugh.

Sorry, I didn't go all the way back to February. I was looking at the posts closer to the draft. I think April is as far back as I went. Clearly, I don't have your dedication. I wasn't crazy about him, and I had some serious concerns:

I don't see a lot of value in adding a high volume shooting, defensive liability point guard. I don't think that moves the needle for the roster. In general, I don't think Trae Young is a transcendent talent.

Today, I don't have a huge problem with Young. He is a low percentage shooter, and he does turn the ball over a lot, but I think he can improve. I would say he has been better than Ayton in terms of being an impact player.

I didn't kill Atlanta for that move, and that's considering I thought Luka was the best player in the draft. It was a gamble for sure, but at least they got another lotto pick out of it. Plus, I didn't really see Luka as a good fit in Atlanta.

Gonna be the mavs pick this year, unless they jump into the top 4. Think it’s looking like 6-8 range.

I wasn't all that dedicated to finding that, haha. It took me all of 2 minutes in the search. I understand your thoughts on Young and they were correct in that it would be like that early in his career, but I think you discounted his positive change to how they play. They all feel like they get to eat, and ability to make everyone on the team better. I figured a Suns fan and one that watched Nash would have recognized this ability or potential for this ability, at least in the future. It's just that Trae was ahead of the curve, and it seemed obvious.

Yeah, this makes me sick. I thought this was a no-brainer to pick him up after summer league, let alone recently when he was let go and the Suns needed a pf, but apparently I misunderstood what the scouts were looking for.

We've found that scouting hasn't worked for us in the past. You can't win with players you scout. So we are going to take a different approach this year.

Dragic can still outplay Doncic. Are we sure we don't want him?

Interesting stuff in this article about the beat writers covering the Bucks: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2019/3/28 ... -media-mvp

A guy from Australia self funded his attempt to become a beat writer. He moved to Milwaukee to cover the Bucks and is freelance selling his articles back in Australia.
