What is the vet min for him? I don't think he is worth any more, but I would be happy to give him a 3 year deal on it, with the last being a player option.

Bender has been averaging 10.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals over the last 3 games. I really like that stat line.
Over the last three games of last season, he averaged 14.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 blocks, 0.0 steals and +1.3. Big deal, it’s three games.

I would offer the vet min, but with incentives built in.

A lot depends on how we use our cap space...we’ll have to renounce his rights to get any space. So we’ll have to fit him into whatever cap space we have remaining, which won’t be much, or use an exception...we will have the under the cap mid level...which this year was a 4.5 million yearly salary with a max of two years. The bi-annual exception...which was like 3.5 million with a max of two years. Or the vet min, which will be 1.5 million for Bender next year.

That bi annual exception looks good to me...2 years for 7 million.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but do we actually have his rights? I thought he was going to be an unrestricted FA this year, so there is no cap space being held by him as of the moment.

He’s unrestricted because we declined his option, but we still hold his bird rights. So he will have a cap hold...I think in the 6 million range, that will take up our space if we don’t renounce him.
