Where is the offer Sarver?! We need Monty here .
Yeah, kind of puzzling. Maybe they're waiting until the 76ers are out of the playoffs?
There's definitely something going on. The Lakers have not made an offer to Williams or Lue yet either.

I'm just glad that when the Suns players come into the gym each day to work out, they don't have to see any coaches. Or a trainers. They can just, you know, find the destiny that is inside of themselves.

Maybe the janitor can help them improve their defense?

Sure. He can hold up a broom and make them shoot over it.

I think Monty Williams is a terrific "leader of men" type. He wasn't a great Xs and Os coach with New Orleans, but my hope is that the last few years spent with the Spurs, Team USA and the Sixers have improved his game management skills considerably.

That and a good tactician second in command would go a long way.

Something else to consider is that Monty is coaching Joel Embiid. Maybe he could teach Ayton how to play like Embiid.

Kokoskov didn’t teach Ayton to play like Gobert. Embiid is a better overall target though for Ayton.

This is really encouraging. I no next to nothing about the guy, but it would be really nice to get their top choice, and to have that top choice have some head coaching experience (even if he did have a low winning %).
I mean hey we haven't had a winning % that high in ages!
48-34 wins usually gets you in the playoffs. the only other team that did not make it with that record is golden state during the baron davis era.

They could just use a chair like Yi Jianlian

I agree. Just because Phil Jackson coached Shaq doesn't mean he could teach Luc Longley Shaq Fu.

I wonder how many coaches have been fired for failing to turn a disappointing #1 pick into the player the owner / gm imagined on draft night.

The players all say they didn't have a clue what Igor wanted from them, what their roles were, or what he was trying to tell them to do.

We only know that somebody said a couple anonymous players said, off the record, that they didn't know what he wanted.

Of course they're not going to go on the record to talk badly about an ex-coach, especially someone that they, by all accounts, like and respect.

It was pretty clear all season that there was a communication problem between Igor and his team. In fact, I remember Ayton going on record early in the season saying he didn't know what Igor wanted from him.

too bad about igor's communication issues with the players. having a decent point guard could have helped, since they say the pg is the extension of the coach on the floor.

nobody listens to melton, and booker did his own thing.

I think it is coming from multiple sources now and Ashley Nevel said she heard it from multiple players after games during the season. I've been saying it since the first week that it was glaringly obvious but that's from what I was seeing on the court from Louisiana, so...

You're absolutely right. I think a lot of us were saying it and hoping it was wrong since it was so early in the year let alone his tenure.
