Suns Statement on Aaron Nelson
The Suns are undergoing a complete evaluation of their basketball operations, including working with world-class healthcare provider, Steward, as well as human performance company, EXOS, on the team’s medical and performance efforts.

The team is leveraging its partnership with Steward, including its national network of physicians and specialists, to add depth and experience to the club’s medical operations this offseason. The Steward team includes experts in primary care sports medicine, orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, athletic training, sports psychology, and more, which the Suns will utilize to advance the team’s efforts.

In addition, the Suns are partnering with EXOS on a new collaboration that will support an expansion of the team’s efforts in the sustainable high performance space. Headquartered in Phoenix and renowned globally for helping athletes unlock potential while reducing injuries, EXOS builds customized player performance programs and provides the tools and resources to ensure teams have useful data, insights and expert guidance. More details will be announced in the near future.

EXOS just feels like some company you’ll read about in the future that scammed a bunch of people out of a lot of money.

EXOS is the premier training center in the country, and it's headquartered in North Phoenix, north of the 101 and just east of Cave Creek rd. They train most of the NFL draft picks prior to the combine and draft. They train pro athletes of all sports, but mostly soccer, football and baseball. I believe Deandre was training there after the UofA season and before the draft.

Should I let myself start believing that Sarver seems to actually be allowing Jones to makes whatever changes he deems necessary and do whatever he wants with the team?

Call me a cynic, but "leveraging our partnership with Steward" sounds like code for "we got a cheaper deal".

LOL.

Look, EXOS might be good or whatever, but there's no way it is good news that we just let a team steal Aaron Nelson away from us. We were revered around the league for our training staff. Now we are "leveraging our partnership" with some training company instead. Great. Knowing Sarver that probably just means he has a business buddy there or got a sweet deal from them.

That was about 10 years ago. I don't think the league thinks the same about the training staff any longer. Everyone has caught up and/or passed the Suns. It may not even be Aaron Nelson's fault, as the Suns have limited resources, cramped training area, no on site chef, small staff and the worst practice facility/weight room in the entire league. There are high schools that have better facilities than the Suns. I wouldn't doubt that the training staff worked on shoestring budget either.

this. I am not happy that he was recruited away, but we have a lot of evidence to support the fact that we don't spend a lot on training/taking care of players. If he wasn't allowed to do his job to the best of his ability anyway, I am happy for him he found a better place. Hopefully Exos can make a case for how to get the most out of our players' health and all will work out.

There's still a large (dormant) fanbase. They're just afraid to put that thing on their car.

If it wasn’t that corny ass logo, I would get one. I’ve always hated that logo.

I liked the logo, but if it was the new sunburst, which I like better, I think I would do it. Plus, the sunburst looks good on the black background.

You might be right, but 1,500 is not all that many to overcome and the Coyotes may be a lock to make the playoffs next year, along with being an up and coming team in the NHL. There is a small but rabid fanbase for them.
