Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Gambo reversed himself today and said the complete opposite lol. He said that Russell is not their top target but that they will offer him the max (if Kawhi goes elsewhere).
He said Kawhi is their top target, then Russell, then Collison (no longer an option now apparently), then Goran Dragic.

Now it makes sense that he only wanted to play for a contender and was willing to take less money from a contender. He was probably thinking of playing one last year before retiring.

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Not that I wanted Darren Collison but that just makes it more competitive for us to get a PG.
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
That’s true, but there are still a ton. I figure Beverley goes elsewhere. Indiana probably gets Rubio. Kemba and Kyrie will go to big markets. There are a ton of restricted PG’s(Rozier, Jones, Satoransky, Wright, Russell, Brogdon) And there is always Joseph, Hill, Rondo, Burke, Payton. We’ll get one. I’d target one of the restricted guys. Russell and Rozier could be easily attainable as their teams need to renounce them to sign Kyrie and Kemba.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 7:11 amNot that I wanted Darren Collison but that just makes it more competitive for us to get a PG.

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Dude just scratch all that turd on that last list off. Don’t bother with any of them.
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
If 2-3 of the following PGs leave the Eastern conference, what is the hierarchy of PGs left in the Eastern conference?
Kyrie
Kemba
DLo
Brogdan
Kyrie
Kemba
DLo
Brogdan

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Wouldn’t the Nets rather have an expiring Tyler Johnson than Wiggins’ contract???
The Suns wouldn’t even have to stretch Johnson in that case. And they still aren’t even willing to meet with Russell??? I can’t handle this front office!!! Ugh.
If the Suns were pursuing him, there would be a report of them meeting with him at the beginning of free agency. Gambo was right all along. Sadly. Sickeningly. This is worse than the Knicks...at least they try to get free agents.

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
There's a part of me that thinks a lot of this is smokescreening so it doesn't look like tampering on our part.
I am prepared to be disappointed tho.
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Yeah, but also means no ROFR to worry about. We could renounce Oubre and sign him outright, assuming he’ll accept a contract starting at the ~22M we’d have in that case.
