Re: Around the League: The Off-season
That's a perplexing move by GSW.
I understand that it's not ideal to lose KD for nothing, but DLo doesn't really fit well and he eats a ton of cap space.
Maybe they could move him next summer?

Lopez Brothers Assemble!
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Is Igoudala retiring? Or will Memphis buy him out just for him to return to the Warriors?
It's still shocking to see them cast him aside...

And DLo is a ball hog. Can he adapt to being selfless? GSW just made their last finals appearance. Their backcourt has no D without Iggy and Klays move to 3 spot. Dray can’t cover the whole court on D.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 8:52 pmThat's a perplexing move by GSW.

Fantastic deal. We'll see if Washington matches. Why has NY signed Randle, Portis, and Taj Gibson?

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
I'd gladly let anyone else pay Bobby Portis $15M a year. I guess it being two years isn't so bad, but he's barely a starting level player, IMO.
I think the Knicks are trying to stack PF's like the Suns used to stack wings. I guess it means they're still going to play Kevin Knox out of position and eat away from RJ's touches.

The Knicks are directionless.

Maybe Ryan's secretly running the team now..INFORMER wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 9:19 pmhttps://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1145545656783790080

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
I think there is some friction there now. Igoudala saying the Warrior training staff said he had a bone bruise when he had a fracture.

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
Yep.
The sign and trade has hit a snag; apparently Miami wants to hold on to Derrick Jones; Dallas is refusing to take on Dragic because they are afraid his salary will interfere with other moves they have to make.

Re: Around the League: The Off-season
I don't like almost all of the moves these teams are making. Even the mighty Brooklyn has capped out on a core of the washed up, offensively inept DeAndre Jordan, the team-killing nutjob ballhog Kyrie Irving, and the mighty Kevin Durant with a blown Achilles who may never be the same. There are decent chances that that team completely collapses despite this splashy offseason.
Philly loses their second-best player, maxes out a mediocre forward in Harris, signs a decent veteran center for waaaay too many years and too much $.
Golden State loses Durant, maxes out another ball-dominant guard, trades their best perimeter defender, and mortgages future picks to do it all. Hmm. They are going to wish they had those picks when their team isn't very good any more in 4-5 years.
Milwaukee loses a great PG who fit their system well in Brogdon. They keep Middleton which is good, but now he's paid handsomely. Robin Lopez is a pretty mediocre signing.
The Knicks give up Kristaps Porzingis, a unicorn center if ever there was one, only to use their cap space to sign the ... pretty good? ... Randle to big bucks. That is devastating. They'll probably blow the rest of their cap space on DeMarcus Cousins or some other player who makes no sense for them.
Miami gets Butler, which is a good move. I like that one. Don't think they are a contender, but that's a great pickup at a good price.

NBA TV said it may be Richardson and Jones going to Dallas.

This is the deal I would have expected for rubio
Re: Around the League: The Off-season
I’m sorry, but you can’t be serious. You wish the suns, after 9 years out of the playoffs, had used all of their cap space on Iggy (who would either demand a buyout or be our 4th small forward) so we could pick up a 2024 first rounder???
