The Mavs won 33 last year with serious tanking after the all-star break. They traded away their starting line-up (except Doncic) mid-season for a guy who didn't play. I'd stay away from that bet, because I can easily see it going both ways. Carlisle is a wizard.

That’s fair, I’d probably stay away from the bet, just because we have no idea about KP. If he’s playing 35 minutes a night, putting up 20/8 with 2 blocks and shooting 38% from 3, they could be good. But if he’s 28 minutes a night, sitting out back to backs, shooting 33% from 3, that team will struggle. They’ll need both guys to be great to take pressure off the rest of their rotation. And I am not excited about any of their other starters either, but Luka and (healthy) KP is a pretty good combo. And the rest of their team is much more of a team than we have had the last few years. With a great coach. I don't think they will make the playoffs, but I wouldn't bet the under on them.
Fair, but we don't have more than 2 guys we can count on for high-level offensive production every night, and you still think we are a mid-30s win team, right? Ya I think we’re in a similar situation as them. I think this, too. I love Luka and also really like (a healthy) Porzingis. But as others have said, I'm not sure KP gets back to 100%, and I don't like a lot of their other players.
