I really like Clarke; if we were to "reach" for him at 6, I wouldn't be really upset about it. I would be annoyed because I think the general media consensus is that he could be had later, and if we had to resort to picking him at 6 it might indicate that we weren't aggressive enough in trading down. But I think Clarke is being undervalued in general.
It just feels like we would have to be able to trade back to 8 or 9 and pick Clarke there while getting some kind of asset, right? A future first? A second-rounder? Something? C'mon, guys. Get on the phone.
but let's say there aren't any takers, or at least takers in the range where we know he will still be available. I want the suns to walk away from the draft with the player they want most that is still on the board when they pick. I don't care if we think we can trade 6 for 11 and come away with Clarke and something else. If they love clarke more than the other folks on the board when they pick, take him.
Totally agree, if they can't work something out and they really want Clarke, take Clarke. In general, I'm not in love with the guards in this draft (outside of Morant). I like Hunter, Clarke, and Washington, though I go back and forth over who I like better between Hunter and Clarke.

This is lining up perfectly for us to draft Coby White over either Garland or Culver. Obviously, none of us know anything, but lots of people whose opinions I respect view that as a really dumb move.

Also, we just cleared up some of our wing logjam, so Culver has a path to more PT.

Apparently, James Jones read both of your posts and took them to heart... except it was reaching for Cam what tortured his soul.

I gotta say, in all the draft coverage I grew more fond of Coby White. I just really liked his attitude. He gave great interviews and seemed to be a thoughtful and emotional young man. I also liked his floor leadership. I have a feeling guys will like playing with him.

Split, something is wrong with this poll. I'm not seeing the Cam Johnson choice. Please advise.

Picking Cam at 6 would be a reach. He belongs about, oh, five spots below that. Evidently.
