Suns just threw away 3.4 million in cap space

Post by JeremyG »

By all accounts Cameron Johnson would have been there at 32. In other words, we could have traded #11 to Indiana instead of #32, and still had Cameron Johnson along with an extra 3.4 million dollars in cap space.

Or perhaps we could have traded #11 and Josh Jackson for a second round pick and still gotten Cameron Johnson (an extra 10.4 million in cap space).

He would not have been there at 32, but it was a major reach

Well even if that’s true, at least trade #11 for a late first and a second or protected future first. And you still would have more cap space.

James Jones is clearly a rookie GM and this forum could do better than him.

Really getting great at squandering cap space.
