Don't think we can. Need the space to sign Rubio.

I'm a little surprised they were able to get back Jevon Carter.

He looked really bad last season and probably doesn't have a ton of upside left at 24.

So why did we need to waive korver to create cap? Did we stretch or was the deal not guaranteed but still tradable? (ie the rights counted for the trade value but not against the cap when waived?)

I'm a little confused

Only part of his salary was guaranteed. Waiving him frees up the part of his salary that wasn't guaranteed. They needed to create more cap space because they offered Rubio more first year salary than they had space for.

Was reading The Stepien's scouting report. Ideal pairing is with a lbig playmaker. Wonder who that could be.

Say what you will about Jones but the pieces fit.

I am saaaaad about Jackson, though Before his incidents this summer I though he could turn it around.

Same. I was so happy when he fell to #4, and was still rooting for him to get it all together. It’s sad. I still think there’s a chance he could have a good career, but who knows if he could’ve staying here.

Self flaggellation aside about draft fails, just not having Josh Jackson on the court for 25mpg dramatically improves the team's chances of not playing dumb and ugly basketball. I've been wanting to dump him since halfway his rookie season, so I'm stocked. Would have been interested in keeping Korver, but the way we managed our cap and the money offered to Rubio wouldn't allow it.

I am assuming Oubre is signed to a big contract. In that case, strategically it is almost imperative to use Tyler in a trade, sooner or later. If not for a star, at least for somebody useful on a two year contract (ideally a PF). If we let his big contract expire, we'd handicap our ability to add talent to this roster.

warren's unpopularity in the suns forums gave jones the go ahead to dump him.

He also shot like 25% inside the arc. I’m going to need to the a birth certificate because this dude looks no less than 39 years old.

I guess we can pretty much close the book on the McDonough disaster now.
Yep. Onward and upward to 25 wins and another 5 year rebuilding process.

Seriously, this is a 25 win team. The Rubio and Ayton don't stretch the court well enough to make the roster concept work.

Bet! You're at least 5 wins short.

I get the idea Jones is going for but this is a prime example of getting pennies on the dollar. I never though McD was a shrewd negotiator, but the lopsidedness of some of these deals are really hard to justify.

I'll happily go less than 30 wins on a bet.

This was an awful trade. We could have just stretched Jackson to get the room needed for Rubio. Instead we attached a promising young player and 2 second round picks so we wouldn’t have $2.4M on the books the next 2 seasons.

Alright, how about a one month avatar shame on the line starting next July 1?
