Build Your All-Time Phoenix Suns Team With Only $15
Re: Build Your All-Time Phoenix Suns Team With Only $15
*There's a pretty good argument for Barkley and Hornacek vs Booker and Hawkins (Hornacek was a 20, 5 and 5 guy one year, then had 7 assists the year after? And that 3pt % is pretty handy. Barkley also has a whole lot of longevity over Hawkins...

Wow, I realise I’ve seen some great players since 93 when I first watched the Suns.
This $15 is a hard one though.
$3 Kidd- You have everything you need besides the scoring %. He could still score and that is useful. The added D and rebounds for me take it from the extra $2 you pay for Nash. A realistic triple double threat we haven’t had in a long time.
$2 Jeff H- A real 2 guard. Scoring, defence and assists. Can switch with Kidd on D as well if needed.
$1 Ceballos - Scoring from anywhere and at a rapid rate gives the added punch to the lineup.
$5 Barkley - Best player in my time supporting the Suns. His D and scoring helps out all over the court and helps Ayton by having his ass kicked every practice.
$3 Ayton - The best 5 ever in my time supporting the Suns and it was his rookie year. Given time with Barkley in practice and this guy eats the league alive. Realising that if the Greek freak can do what he does with less tools then the sky is the limit for him.

I'm paying the luxury tax for this one:

Booker
Marion
Barkley
Ayton

Kidd-Booker-Ceballos-Nance-Amare
Kidd would average 20 assists a game.

I know we're all pretty down about the state of our team lately. But it does say something that 2/5 of the arguably best Suns starting lineup of all time are current Suns players. We can build on that.
Re: Build Your All-Time Phoenix Suns Team With Only $15
Good point by you. And we are trying. I truly believe if we were in the East we'd be really good. The are several East teams I think we are better than. Unfortunately we're in the hardest conference AND division in the league. Sucks to be us.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I know we're all pretty down about the state of our team lately. If that's the case, I'd trade Booker for Westphal in a second.

I wanna see Cliffy, Grant Hill, and Rex on there.

Fredette-Jackson-Beasley-Keef-Bedford. They have to pay me to take them, right?
Re: Build Your All-Time Phoenix Suns Team With Only $15
It is also telling that you can't buy the whole SSOL team for $15. Nash, Marion, Amare costs you $15 alone. Add Raja for $1 and you are still short a PF. And arguably that team would play Marion at PF and Amare at C, so in that case you'd be short an SF. If I could add Grant Hill for $1 my team would be:
Nash $5
Bell $1
Hill $1
Marion $5
Amare $5
TOTAL $17
Probably not enough 3-point shooting for today's NBA. But I don't care. I love watching all of those guys, and that'd be great fun to watch.

I thought I was a huge Suns fan, but I don't know a bunch of these squares. Can we list out who's who? I'll tell you who I don't know (I wonder if anyone else here is struggling like I am):
$4 SF
$4 C
$3 SG
$3 PF
$2 PG
$2 PF
$2 C
$1 PF
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I didn't know $2 C and $1 PF.
Re: Build Your All-Time Phoenix Suns Team With Only $15
I had to Google several. I was a casual fan in the late '80s and have been a more serious fan since 1992-3. I don't know many players from before the KJ/Horny/Chambers/EJ team. For example, I didn't see any of Westphal, Silas, Adams, Hawkins, DJ, those guys.

No excuses for not knowing Chuck (he's on TNT all the time!) or Chambers (Suns' broadcasts)
All the rest are pre-1988.
