The new NBA Power rankings came out today for a couple of publications. We were 26-27th to start the season and everyone thought the Suns would suck. This week?
CBS - 8th up 17 spots.
ESPN - 22nd up 4 spots

This is good if not funny how quickly people gonna start changing their tune but I must point out on ESPN they still have us behind the Warriors (21)
Break up the Suns! The first team to beat the Kawhi-Leonard-led Clippers is the team that finished last (by a wide margin) in the West last season and was missing two starters -- the suspended DeAndre Ayton and an injured Ricky Rubio -- on Saturday. The Suns are playing above last season's level on both ends of the floor (and this team leading the league in assist percentage is pretty stunning), but what they've done on defense is more noteworthy for a few reasons:
Only once last season did they allow as few as 101.2 points per 100 possessions over a three-game stretch.
They've ranked in the bottom three defensively in each of the last three seasons.
Monty Williams' last three teams in New Orleans all ranked in the bottom 10 defensively.
Talent matters more than anything and three games are just three games, but it's evident that some of the Suns' offseason acquisitions -- Aron Baynes, Jevon Carter and Dario Saric -- added an amount of toughness that this team hasn't had in a long time.
Week 2: vs. UTA, @ GSW, @ MEM

If the Suns go 3-0 this week, we should expect a much bigger jump in ESPN. The Utah game will be a huge test. They've owned the Suns for some time, and those Utah fans felt disrespected when Igor put Booker back in to try to get 60 on them in that blowout loss while the Suns were severely shorthanded.

NBA.com has us at 14
NBA.com seems the most reasonable after only three games. But there is no question that this team is on the rise!

This team has earned all the respect and high expectations we can give them. They are as good as In2 thought they would be.

Gambo is so unprofessional. I cringe when I see one of his tweets, knowing that he's so close to the team. I hope players never read his tweets and then assume that the team agrees with them or that he speaks for the Suns.

I love it

Local sports writers calling players "bums" is pretty unusual. Makes players wonder if they come to Phoenix, will they be abused that way as well?
I wish we knew Ariza's side of the story. It wouldn't surprise me if McDonough and Sarver didn't do something stupid and awful to make things go sour.
