I thought about this the other night watching Devin defend. If he (aka the team's star player) buys in, there's no reason for the other guys not to. And it doesn't put Monty in the tough position of having to let his "star" slide on defense but hold others accountable or to a different standard for their defense. To me, that's a big relief.
I agree; his defensive effort has been really good so far this year, noticeably different than last season. I also think his passing has been pretty good. He is not only scoring a lot of points but also finding other players for easy baskets and sharing the duty of running the offense with Rubio and others. Booker is playing really well other than maybe the first 1-2 games of the season.
Not having to be the hero on offense and be the point guard has allowed him to safe more energy for playing defense imo. Now he can save a little energy and pick his spots to go off.

Fox Sports has another one of those "build a team with $15" things, if anybody wants to weigh in. The prices are a bit weird; JJ is $1? Westphal $4 but Booker $3?
Mine: Nash ($5), Booker ($3), JJ ($1), Hawkins ($2), Amare ($5). I'm $1 over the cap. If there's a hard cap, swap out Hawk and give me Shaq for $1 at C.

I’d take your same team and just swap Amare for Shawn.
