The last time the Suns had a 7-game stretch where they were this competitive (where they could have gone 7-0 with a couple of buzzer-beaters) was December, 2014.

The last streak of competitive games longer than this was 10 games in March 2010. The starters on that team were Steve Nash, Amar'e Stoudemire, Jason Richardson, Grant Hill and Robin Lopez.

Remember when they were criticized for getting rid of these guys? -

Warren - 34.5 Min, 43.8 FG%, 12.5 3P%, .714 FT%, 15.0 Pts, 3.2 Reb, 0.8 Ast
Holmes - 23.7 Min, 68.36 FG%, 00.0 3P%, 71.4 FT%, 11.4 Pts, 6.6 Reb, 1.0 Ast
Daniels - 15.5 Min, 32.4 FG%, 26.9 3P%, 100.0 FT%, 5.0 Pts 1.0 Reb, 0.5 Ast
Chriss - 14.5 Min, 47.6 FG%, 33.3 3P%, 83.3 FT%, 5.2 Pts, 4.0 Reb, 1.8 Ast
Melton - 4.5 Min, 00.0 FG%, 00.0 3P%, 00.0 FT%, 0.0 Pts, 0.5 Reb, 1.5 Ast
Bender - 0.0 Min. 00.0 FG% 00.0 3P%, 00.0 FT%, 0.0 Pts, 0.0 Reb, 0.0 Ast
Jackson - 0.0 Min. 00.0 FG% 00.0 3P%, 00.0 FT%, 0.0 Pts, 0.0 Reb, 0.0 Ast

Holmes is the only one I really miss, and Baynes has more than made up for him.
Look at all of the untapped potential for Chriss--if you extrapolate his numbers to 36 minutes, he would provide a solid contribution!

Town Drunk Syndrome.

There will always be a good woman who thinks they can turn the town drunk into a good man. That's how NBA coaches are sometimes, and why players like Chriss will keep getting chances.

It was more a case of "how", but the national media was pretty critical.

You can say that again.

Edit: I was teasing Marty because he double posted. This is not emphatic agreement with his post.

Yeah, I agree. I was just being snarky and wanted to post a zinger about Cam. I think it's far too early to conclude whether he "sucks" or not. I'll give him time.

I'm the resident player hater here, and even I think it's way to early to pass final judgment on Cam.

That said, he hasn't looked great, especially for a guy touted as "NBA ready".

With Cam, he has 1 skill that was supposed to translate automatically. The question is, what is he doing when it doesn't translate (his shots aren't falling)? That's the downside of drafting a specialist.

You pull him. We're deep enough that we don't need to rely on him every single night. Monty's been using him specifically as a shooter to see if he can get it going. If not, he sits. But he's also not a total liability defensively or offensively and has shown some nice speed and athleticism in the open court and is smart cutting/moving without the ball. At the very least, he's a threat because of his rep as a shooter.

I think 7 games into the NBA is a bit early to make assumptions about his career.

I'm not making any assumptions. I think his shot will come around. But that's not always a guarantee, even for the best college shooters.

Mikal Bridges is a good example. I thought his shooting would be automatic in the NBA. It still might, but he's really struggled there so far. The good news is, he's a terrific defender, so he bring something even when his shot is struggling. Cam has some decent secondary skills, but unless he's hitting 38%+ from deep, he's probably not bringing enough other things to the table to be playable.
