The 5 games in 7 nights thing didn't go all that well. Suns drop all except a road game at Minnesota. Hard to win without your starting PG, C and back-up C. I'm as disappointed in how Booker played last night as I am thrilled with how he played on Saturday. Lets see how he responds Wednesday vs. Washington.
Last Week's Games
vs. Boston LOSS 99-85
@ Sacramento LOSS 120-116
vs. New Orleans LOSS 124-121
@ Minnesota WIN! 100-98
@ Denver LOSS 116-104
This Week's Games
Wednesday, November 27th vs. Washington 9:00 PM EST
Friday, November 29th vs. Dallas 9:00 PM EST
The Suns have fallen of late, losing four of their past five games and six of the past nine after a strong start. Phoenix can blame the injury bug: Starting point guard Ricky Rubio has missed four of the past five games because of back spasms and starting center Aron Baynes has missed four straight games because of a hip flexor strain (Deandre Ayton remains out as he serves a 25-game suspension that will sideline him until mid-December).

Yeah. It was pretty crazy to see the drop off from one game to the next. That may have been the least impactful 33 minutes he has ever played. I don't get it.

Book's seen his minutes jump with Rubio out. He's averaged about 39mpg in the 3 games leading into Denver and played 38 against Minny. I think the extra minutes, B2B and altitude in Denver got to him.
Burns and Gambo said on the radio today the Suns are the only team in the NBA this year that will have a 5 games in 7 nights stretch. Only 4 teams have 2 back to backs in a week and the Suns have it twice. Nice scheduling NBA.
Any news on Baynes? I was reading about his injury and it sounded like 3 weeks to six months depending on the severity.
Yikes. What exactly is the injury.
It’s a hip contusion. I guess that’s a fancy way of saying bruise. I re read up and it sounds like...
The length of time it’ll take to recover varies depending upon the severity of your injury and the depth of the contusion. It may take as long as two to four weeks to recover fully. You can return to normal activities as soon as you feel able.

I was at a site before that talked about the different degrees of severity and had more detailed lengths of recovery times established depending on the severity. The Suns never give many details other than generic answers when ot comes to that stuff anyway.

I thought on the Denver broadcast Leander called it a hip flexor injury. That is much more worrisome than a hip contusion (unless they are just saying it is his hip flexor with the contusion). Don't we have any sports medicine docs here?
Was initially listed as a hip contusion. Suns have since changed that to a hip flexor strain. Timeline all depends on what degree of strain it is. Hopefully it’s just a minor one and he’ll be back soon.

I hope so too. Starting your 3rd string center is rough. I don't think Diallo is big enough to handle starters minutes but I think maybe he's earned more time with his recent play. A stark contrast to how lost he looked in the pre-season. It could be that he needed reps in Monty's system to become more comfortable.

Yeah, hip flexor strains can make it hurt to simply walk, much less run, jump, set a screen, or take a charge. I hope we we get him really soon. Hell, we just need him to yell what defense to play to the others, even if he can't move. He was the voice of our defense and you can see how little we talk when he isn't on the court.
Rubio is supposed to play tomorrow, Baynes seems less likely. But it sounds like he’s been doing more at practice. I assume he’ll play soon. Friday against Dallas would be nice.
