It seems like our old training staff built most of their reputation on dealing with chronic issues. They got Shaq healthier than he had been. Grant Hill had a rejuvenation here. Even Michael Redd had a solid year health wise. Of course there is Nash too, who had lots going on but was able to mostly stay on the court here.
AFAIK, Nash has his own people that helped him stay on the court after his back injury.

The Suns training staff was all about preventative care at a time when that was mostly overlooked by players and organizations as a whole. They were also ahead of the curve on applying new techniques and procedures (Amare's microfracture). Maybe they could've helped prevent Ayton's ankle injury or Cam's hip, or Rubio's whatever. Or maybe not. We really have no way to know because none of us have first hand knowledge of how the training staff has changed from the inside.

I don’t think anything could have saved Ayton’s ankle besides him not landing on the other guys foot the way he did or maybe laced up tight high tops that none of the players seem to wear anymore.
