Game Day: Suns (13-20) @ Lakers (26-7), Wed 1/1/20

Post by Superbone »

Time: 8:30 pm AZ (7:30 pm PT/10:30 pm ET)
Place: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
TV: FSAZ/NBALP

Both teams looking for their 3rd straight win. Unfortunately, the Lakers have been getting their rhythm back and one of the top defensive teams while the Suns are one of the worst. At least we have our full complement of players for only the 2nd game of the season.

Go Suns!!!

Time for an old rivalry to resurface into a decade long roaring 20’s war. There is no way we win this game....right?

Obviously the Lakers are favored to whoop us, but, this isn't exactly the worst time to meet up with them. We have won a few games recently and have Ayton back. It still probably won't be enough, but maybe we can make a good show of it with a generally healthy roster. I know I'll be watching this one and shouting at the hated Lakers every time down the floor. GO SUNS!

Prediction

Lakers 118, Suns 112

Moneyline (ML)

The Lakers are going to win if Anthony Davis plays or not. They're such big ML favorites (-625), it's not worth the risk vs. the payoff. Every $6.25 wagered on the Lakers will only profit $1 if they win. If you're willing to take a shot that the Suns (+450) somehow pull of an upset, they offer a 4.5-to-1 payoff, but I'm going to PASS.

I predict that those scores will be wrong. Both of them!

I don't know why this team waits until they are behind to bring any defensive intensity. Frustrating.

Lakers make 11 of 11 FG before Monty decides it's time for a timeout.

Lakers on pace for 218 points.
