Not my favorite guy but may his memory be a blessing to all that loved him.

Not seeing much important news other than Stern's passing. Marc Stein says he thinks K. Love may be traded soon:

We were talking about Isaac being a potential option for the TWolves in a KAT trade...well that may not be the case now.

(not the most gruesome injury, but proceed with caution)

Ouch. The knee isn't supposed to move in that direction. The best to him for a speedy recovery.

I'm looking at the league standings:

https://www.espn.com/nba/standings

Out East, the 76ers have dropped to 6th place, with constant articles and reports about the team feeling a malaise and having an on/off switch. Lots of complaints about effort and about Ben Simmons's poor shooting. Meanwhile the Celtics have roared up to #2 in the East at 23-8 and the shocking Miami Heat are currently in 3rd at 24-9 (!).

In the West, the Lakers remain in first with the Nuggets, Clips, Rockets in 2nd-4th separated by a half game. Then you have Dallas and Utah; Utah seems to be doing better lately since they decided to basically bench the decrepit Mike Conley and start Joe Ingles instead. Then there's OKC in the 7 seed (Ewing Theory at work) and the Spurs in a vulnerable 8th seed, with the Blazers and Suns on the 9-10 slots on the outside looking in.

This is a weird story. There are rumors that:

1) Greg Popovich wants to retire soon; and
2) Bill Self of Kansas might replace him.

I think the only thing weird is that they would be looking to hire from outside of the org. Pop is going to be 71 in a couple weeks. He could probably have a really lucrative, relaxed schedule as a speaker around the world (and make the kind of differences he talks about frequently). He can still be some type of "emeritus" with the spurs, but not live the life of an NBA coach throughout his 70s. Average age of death for American men is still only 78. Stern just died at 77. You have to start thinking about the next chapter.

Curious why Atlanta would be interested in Drummond

Drum with Trae would be something. Wondering if we've talked to them about Ayton. I'd take here Drum in a heartbeat.

Drummond is expensive, but he is still leads the nba in rebounding. Plus, he gets a ton of steals and blocks, score efficiently around the rim, and is only 26. He's not a good ft shooter, but he has been around 60% for the past 3 seasons.

The only salaries he costs is Parsons and Len. So it's really up to how many other assets the Pistons want.

You guys really think an Ayton/Drummond swap is a good idea?

I think Ayton’s potential outweighs his present trade value. Too early to give up on him.

Drummond is a free agent, so it would be a rental. No way are we trading Ayton for a rental.

I wouldn’t mind trading lesser assets for Drummond to see if we can pair him with Ayton, though.

Agreed. Let's hope he reaches his potential. At least I feel good about the staff around him.

I could be proven wrong in time, but I don't think a swap of Ayton for Drummond would be good for the Suns in the long run. I would definitely be opposed to a move like that.
