Game Day: Grizzlies (14-22) @ Suns (14-21), Sun 1/5/20

Time: 6:00 pm AZ (5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET)
Place: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, NBALP

If you thought this was going to be easy due to the Grizzlies record, think again. They just crushed the LA Clippers in LA by 26 on Saturday. Do we start the twin towers again?

Go Suns!!!

Twin Towers?
More like “The Ying-Yang front court” if you ask me.

Yes, start them again! Practice those side threes before the game Baynes.

Question was asked on BrightSide the other day - our young core or theirs?

https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2020 ... -grizzlies

Booker, Ayton, Oubre, Bridges and Johnson

vs

Morant, JJJ, Clarke, Brooks, Melton

Memphis won 57% - 43%.

I voted ours, but as I'm a Nash / Kidd / Facilitator guy I'll always look to fill the PG position first and Morant looks seriously good .. and we've potentially made a big mistake trading away Melton.

Ja Morant is so great. I really wish we had lucked into the #2 pick this draft. I realize that probably would have stopped us from signing my beloved Rubae, but Morant is such a special young player that it'd be worth it.

Thing with Morant is he isn't a facilitator first, so I could easily be convinced we're a better nucleus with Rubio at the helm. I just love pass first PG's (as much as you love Rubio it seems :) ).

They kept them under 30 in the first quarter, so that’s refreshing

Felt like that was the best first quarter they played in ages until about the 2-minute mark. And then the Grizz scores on like 100 straight possessions.

How do you blow the whistle after the shot attempt and call it a non shooting foul?

Well, strong-ish finish to the half, so we're only down 5, 62-57. Booker is playing great as usual. Valanciunas has 20 (!) and Dillon brooks has 13 (!) at the half.

How are we playing Baynes and Ayton together and yet we’re the ones getting destroyed by the big man!

Memphis shooting 55% and 45% on 3's with only 6 turnovers,

Same ol' Suns defense.

MEM is shooting 56 percent from the field and 46 from 3. Every team seems to shoot the ball so damn well against us.

I like our team. But every other team looks really good when they play against us. And that is concerning.

Our defense is a joke. Turning off. I have a screaming baby I'd rather enjoy instead of this trash.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
