Now we know who deserves to play and who does not. Except that I will give Oubre a pass.
So what are you supposed to do when you don’t have at least five players who deserve to play?
I think that’s why Dario and Elie had to keep coming back out on the floor. Too many guys having just pitiful games.
Jones needs to fire up the trade machine. We got expiring contracts to let go of for players who are ready to ball out. Saric is the biggest disappointment for me. The guy is talented but just isn’t consistent. It’s not like there is a lack of good looks. Booker being doubled all the time leave so many wide open shots for the likes of TJ, Saric, Frank, Okobo, and Carter.

The Oubre hate is hilarious to me.

We're playing for 2s while other teams are playing for 3s. Teams figured out the offense and are running our guys off the line, and we're not exactly stacked with dribble penetration guys to begin with. We're 7th in the league in 3pt attempts, 26th in 3pt%. Trae was pulling from 3 on the break, Devin was driving in for layups. I'm not saying he should start jacking, but he's hardly even looking for 3s. He's the guy who should be taking 8 a game. Instead he's 63rd in the league in 3pt attempts. Less 3s in pregame, more 3s in actual games.

I like the team/spread offense a bit more with the 2nd unit and like the idea of Bridges, Cam and Oubre bringing defense, length and athleticism but they need a facilitator with that group and an athletic defensive big.
We were trading 2s for 3s. Young is ridiculous from 3. He's an all-star.

It's looking worse and worse for my 30 win bet after that hot start and now mediocre to bad since. At this rate, they won't get to 30 wins.

Our rebounding SUCKED last night. The worst part was it was all about hustle. We got punked.

When we were 7-4, I thought it was practically a done deal. Hah.

We are .424 with Rubio, .286 without him this season.

This team isn't deep enough to sustain any missed time. Especially from Rubio, because so may guys depend on him to set them up.

I do think it was encouraging to see that Ayton and Booker were able to play well together even without Rubio. If Ayton wants to be a star, he can't be dependent on exceptional passing to set him up. Last night, he wasn't. Keep it up, DA. Bridges and Cam also turned in good nights. I was particularly glad to see Cam get back on track. It helped that Booker played point, so there were plenty of minutes for Cam.

I would really like to have seen some minutes for Ty Jerome and Check Diallio. We were in the game through 3 quarters, so I guess Monty didn't want to experiment. But we really only had 4.5 guys playing effectively last night, so what do you lose giving minutes to those guys to see if they can get going?

Oubre was trash tonight. After a damn good game last night out.
That’s textbook oubre
Oubre has been our second best player all season and has had way more "on" games than "off." Last night's game was a rare one in which he didn't positively contribute. It is false to say that he is "trash" every other game.
My point was not that he was trash. Just that his play is frustratingly up and down

I made the same bet with some friends. So I get extra pissed when the suns lose to crappy teams and show no effort. My hope is Jones gets his shit together soon and helps fix the holes we have - I’m curious why sever isn’t barking in his ear.

I know Baynes has been bad but I do wonder how much what is currently happening in Australia is affecting him. This has to be rough.
I’m Australian. I believe his relatives are in NZ or in large cities. He’s doing what he can to help. I would think it wouldn’t have much impact on his play.
How are you doing? Are you still in Australian or are you in the states?
I lost my job, in the process had to leave the girl I was seeing in the country I was working and my home country is on fire. But other than that I’m good 😊 but seriously thanks for asking. If my posts are increasingly negative about the suns lately this might give you some context. Baynes should maybe highlight the plight of our brave volunteers to our own lazy ass millionaire suns players

Not so fun fact: the people fighting the fires are largely volunteers. Several have lost their lives. Our PM dramatically cut their budget last year then fucked off on a family holiday after the fires started. Look up the word ScoMo online now. He then had the stones to visit people in affected areas, he was not warmly received.

Where I live is safe currently but there is smoke haze.

I think any improvement to our bench would help

I’m also in Australia and can confirm. Our prime minister used to be in marketing so has picked up a twitter nickname of Scottyfrommarketing - which he hates ...and I love.
It’s hard to describe how overwhelming the fires have been for everyone in our country, let alone those directly affected. The outpouring of support from around the world has helped but unfortunately we may see more like this in coming years.
I personally don’t believe all this is the cause of Baynes’ recent poor play. I think he’s carrying a niggling injury and worn down after playing international ball in the off season.
