Our turn to be the bug and not the windshield. Maybe they will take us lightly...

Tyler Johnson & Jevon Carter for Malik Monk and Cody Zeller?

Hmm, Is Monk worth taking on Zeller’s contract next year? I know Monk has had some moments, but he’s been very inconsistent. I think I’d prefer a more reliable bench player if we’re gonna torpedo all our cap space next summer.

Maybe we can suck another asset out of them on top of Monk.

The other thing I was considering was Biyombo instead of Zeller. But that doesn’t do much for CHA other than save them $2M.

I kind of like Zeller. He’s a productive player.

I haven’t paid enough attention to Zeller to know much about him. Is he strictly a 5? Any stretch ability at all? How’s he defensively?

Monk is a talent and can get hot. He could give us that Gerald Green 13-14 X-factor off the bench. I’m not a definite no.

9-7 since that 8 game losing streak. That really sunk our season.

We'd be in the 8th spot if we played 500 ball during that streak instead of 0-8. And if those 4 wins would have come against Memphis, Spurs and Portland, we would have a bit of breathing room between us and the 9th seed. Argh.

7-5
Baynes gets injured
5-15
Ayton comes back
8-7

When we have 1 of Baynes or Ayton we are ok. I wonder how good we would be with both healthy.

We're 3 games back from the #8 seed. But we're also just 3 games up from the #14 seed. So it depends how you want to look at it.

The way we have played lately doesn't feel like a playoff team to me. They're just too inconsistent; there are too many games where they just don't show up and put in the effort to win. Our defense and our outside shooting have been all over the place. And of course the injuries and suspension have hurt us a lot.

I don't think I would say that I want the Suns not to try for a playoff spot. But I just wouldn't worry about the playoffs. I would just play our way and play the young guys and develop everybody, and not worry about the W/L record. We'll probably fall just short of a playoff spot at about the 9 or 10 seed, but if everybody is growing and learning along the way, that is still a nice improvement over last year. Next season we can have the playoffs in our sights as a more realistic goal.

Hopefully booker feels the same way if we don’t make it. I just really want JJones to make some attempt to address the weaknesses on the bench. It would greatly help to assess where we were at, rather than going into the offseason wondering. It’s fine then to try and make talent upgrades in the offseason, but it it’s not ok to continue to trot out something that consistently doesn’t work and then run out a McD type line of ‘we like who we have’ even if it constantly sucks. I don’t think finding a semi competent backup pg is too much to ask

I want any move we make to be about 2021 and beyond. I would hate to make another short-sighted move to get 3-4 more wins this year, sacrificing flexibility and growth for next year.

You've got to be FUCKING kidding me. Hearing multiple rumblings on Twitter and Reddit that Booker didn't make the All Star team. The year they change the All Star scoring format and make the game commemorate Kobe Bryan. WHAT A JOKE. FUCK THE NBA.

INGRAM over Booker? Mitchell, just because of team success? I am beyond pissed.
