Diallo keeps the ball high and and goes up quickly when he has the advantage down low. Nice to see.
Also, 5-5 from the field, 4-4 from FT line. Eight boards and three blocks.

I really like him as a minimum salary 3rd string C. He does some dumb things at times but he impacts the game as well

All 5 starters shot at least 50% from the field AND all 4 starters who attempted a 3 shot 50% or better from 3!

For such a dominating win, there sure were a lot of bad basketball plays by the Suns. Beggars can't be choosers though. Great game from Oubre. Bridges was solid, but his defense always seems overrated. He made a couple of good plays, but it felt like he had more possessions where he didn't make the right read, was slow to react, or just did something dumb.

And Ayton's play was depressing.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

This is the type of box score that will fool casuals. Watch the game and you’ll see that the Rockets weren’t really up for a fight and the Suns couldn’t miss. It’s just one of those nights in the modern NBA where pretty much any team can get blown out on any given night.

Booker was a beast. Oubre was a beast. Oubre has a little Harden in him tonight. Liked that. More please.

Wish Cam could have gotten more minutes in garbage time to get some rhythm. He looked straight trash tonight. Not sure how you can play him meaningful mins tomorrow with a game like that tonight.

Diallo kills me. At times he looks so good and then so lost. He had some good numbers tonight but I’m not sure he understands the offense.

Glad we beat the doors off the Rockets. Fuck them

46 points in the first quarter? Crazy! The Beard almost brought them back. Then they started doubling him and forced other guys to participate. He drew one foul early by getting Bridges to reach. After that the Suns didn't bite on his bait and kept their hands out of the cookie jar. Westbrook being out I'm sure hurt them and playing a back to back didn't help them either but, the Suns have been missing all kinds of people and nobody shed any tears for them. The Suns came out firing and put them in a hole early and yes they shot a ridiculous 80+% in the first quarter.

Ayton got into foul trouble and left early. They brought him back in the second quarter and tried to feed him the ball with little success. He was getting triple teamed in the post and getting the ball picked off. That's when Houston made their run. He fared much better in the second half.

Oubre again is on fire.

Booker was Booker.

Cam was rusty.

Diallo keeps impressing me more and more.

This team is hard to figure out.

With Eric Gordon sitting after getting hurt early, and Covington relatively disengaged, I think Harden figured the game was toast after rallying them in the second quarter. With no help on the horizon for him the rest of the game, it was the Suns to win.

Like Eddie said, they should be offended that the Rockets thought they could beat the Suns without Westbrook.

It was ASU night and my mom was at the game. She said to me afterward: "It was a perfect night to give out Oubre Jr. bobble heads... I have a new favorite Suns player."

This game really is an avatar for analytics vs old school ball.

I really hope Ayton imposes his will on the game. He’s going to have his hands full on D as the Rockets will look to have him out on the perimeter so they can attack the paint.
Well, not so much. Really disappointing that he couldn't take advantage of this team. His eyes should have lit up and he should have punished them all freaking night long. Instead, 2 FTAs on 8 total shots with 3 dunks (and I think 2 of the 3 were uncontested).

a) You might be looking at him with "this guy cost us 2 first round picks and can't make a three" glasses when evaluating his defense.

b) yeah... sigh.

Perhaps I watched a different Ayton game. His stats were not great, but his impact on defense was BIG. Even HOU broadcast was hightlighting it.

As for Bridges, his defense is not consistent but he is always paying attention and looking to make things happen. The way he stripped Harden one play was beautiful.

Still, too little so far given how much the franchise paid for him.

It was great to see the Suns play with pace. Even though Westbrook didn't play, it was still a great win.
