I’d probably take Lamelo at 1 if we land there. Though I’d entertain trading down or out 1st. I do like Hayes as well, a little worried about him off the ball at the moment, but he’d have time and he does seem like a hard worker.

Michael Porter Jr comes to my mind if we land Top 4. Would it be enough considering the lack of a clear cut generational talent this year?

I would definitely trade our pick for MPJ, don’t think Denver would though.

Denver isn't trading MPJ. He is absolutely essential to their chances for going from a good team to a true championship contender.

I love the rebounding, passing, height, and athleticism, but man that is a huge investment in a member of the Ball family that shoots 3s off one foot.

Scares me to death.

Oh I agree..I’d be worried. I’d feel better moving back and taking Haliburton.

Yeah, you’re totally right, specially after his coming out party at the bubble. It’s just that Denver have him playing as SF to give him minutes while we have our SF taking turns as PF. In a vacuum, both teams would be natural trade partners. But what Trade Machine transaction would be fair to you to get it done regardless of Phx taking it. And what line would you not cross?

There's no way James and Monty would have taken Ball willingly. I've heard both talk about players coming from "a good family." They both value character and background a lot.

The Ball family might be taxing and annoying, but I don’t think there are any character issues there. Doesn’t matter though as we won’t be picking Ball.

Now that we officially have #10, how would everyone feel if they moved it for Kennard?

I’d be opposed. If none of the candidates I like are available at 10, I think we can do better in a trade.

I’d be more inclined to package it with Oubre for a better player than Kennard.

but I agree. I think Kelly is our most valuable asset that we can part with realistically.

I do like Kennard, though. Good player and makes sense as a 3rd guard.

He is a solid player. I wouldn't mind acquiring him, but the 10th pick is too steep of a price.

I’m stuck between Haynes and Haliburton. Which player is legit? I’d trade up for one of them. Is Oubre worth it on his expiring deal? Is Book deadset on Oubre being a Valley Boy?

They're both legit but Hayes has more of the star-hype so I'm inclined to go along with it and say his upside is higher.

The guys I like that we have a chance at - Hayes, Haliburton, Vassell and Toppin - all realistically may be off the board by 10 as well, so a trade up might be necessary.

I'd settle for Nesmith or Okoro but they're not as good fits with our roster - Nesmith is a great shooter and scorer but doesn't pass or defend, Okoro is a freshman so it's hard to say with much confidence what he's all about, meaning Jones probably won't draft him on this basis, and it looks like he's more of a 3 anyway.

That said, there's a decent amount of talk about Okoro being a bit of a sleeper and if he goes top 10 it increases our chances to get one of Hayes, Haliburton, Vassell or Toppin.

Of these four, Haliburton or Vassell are the most likely to still be on the board but there's also a chance all five of them (Hayes, Haliburton, Vassell, Toppin and Okoro) go top 9, which would suck.

IMO, if you can't tell, then they aren't worth Oubre.

I'd do Oubre for the pick in an advantageous deal, but not Oubre and a straight swap.
