What do you guys think? Any chance we play any more regular season games this year? What if we had controlled games starting in mid-May with no crowds? All players would be monitored closely of course. The skeleton broadcast crew would practice social distancing. Any chance?

I really think it's unlikely. If anything they'd want to jump straight to the playoffs. But I doubt they'll be able to do even that. It's just too dangerous and exposes them to too much liability and criticism if even one player, fan, ref, or team employee catches the virus and becomes seriously ill or dies.

I just don't see it happening. I'd love to see a tournament held in one location, but...

The US has just barely started to flatten the curve this week. I don't expect the virus to be enough under control that Sterling wants to risk all of the team personnel, the broadcast personnel, the transportation personnel, the facilities personnel, the hotel employees, etc.

I think the way they’d bring it back is if they are planning to shift the regular season anyways. Playing basketball in July/August is fine this year if you’re planning to start next year at Christmas anyways. That’s kinda my preference. Obviously depends on what this pandemic looks like come June/July.

I almost want to see a draft with no workouts to see if teams make better decisions.

So, I was watching something non-sports related on TV and they were talking about how it might look when things start getting back to normal. Stuff like continued social distancing and continuing to wear masks. Do you think we might see things like half filled (or less) arenas with the crowd wearing masks?

What about concerts? Space the seats six feet apart?

So we're looking at the earliest possible re-start for the season being about the same date the NBA Finals started last year.

And that's the best case scenario!

That makes a short offseason and late-starting 2020-21 season a given though.

A 2020-21 season isn’t a given at all.
