List your ideas in this thread. Here's a list of the top basketball movies if you missed some. I still remember watching One On One starring Robby Benson as a kid. I remember it as a good movie that showed the corruption of college basketball. I will have to watch it again.

What I hate about some of those movies, and this is personal flaw of myself, is that the players in some are absolutely terrible, but try their best to make them out to be all world. Most of the them are decent though.

It's easier to make an actor look like a decent basketball player than make a bball player play like a decent actor.

The only two basketball movies that I really like and would sit through again are White Men Can't Jump and Hoosiers.
As for what I'm using my time off for, I have been doing research and can tell you this - The current players really can't complain too much about the schedule. in 1958 after the conclusion of the 72-game regular season [with each team playing 10+ preseason games] and the playoffs the NBA sent their All-Star players [including guys like Bob Cousy, Bob Pettit, Ton Heinsohn, Dolph Schayes and Bill Russell] on an exhibition tour to cities that didn't have NBA teams [Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, New Orleans, Miami, Seattle, Denver, Salt Lake City, Vancouver, Louisville, etc.] and they played 21 games in 23 nights - including games on 20 consecutive nights in 20 different cities.
Can you imagine asking NBA All-Stars to give up almost a full month of their summer to play exhibition games 20 nights in a row???

The traveling would be the crazy part...my guess is the level of play in the exhibition games was probably very similar to the pickup games we see nba players play all summer. But 20 cities in 20 nights is crazy

I may be mis-remembering which decade of highlights I have watched, but I don't remember guys in the 50s running an average of 2 miles per game like they do today.

I hadn't heard this story and had to Google it. Ohhhhhhhhhhh, my. How embarrassing. Honestly what is with people who video themselves doing stuff like that? It's such a huge risk and such a small reward. Especially if you're a celebrity, it's probably going to get out somehow. Why take the risk?
