We are doing ok for now. I really am wondering if my son had it back in late January/early Feb. He had a +102 fever for over 10 days, dry cough, very lethargic, and it led to pneumonia. But the rest of us in the house didn't seem to be too bothered.

Ready for our move to Phoenix in 2 weeks. Will be interesting.

Hope you and yours are doing well, Carey.

I also was sick in late Feb. Sick as I’ve ever been, but it only lasted three days. Much as I’d like to believe it was COVID and I now have the antibodies... it wasn’t.

All good here, thanks for posting. Folks are flying back tomorrow from Florida so hopefully things go well and they don't catch anything on the flight or in the airport. Other than that, just staying in and only going out when necessary.

Hope you guys are well, all things considered.

Doing well, finally starting to get back to work after two and a half months off. My family is doing well although my sister lives in Seattle, which has been a hot spot.

I am doing fine. Just got my negative results a couple of hours ago. The 48 hour wait time took 5 days with the weekend holiday. Stores must be open now. I went to Lowes and it was dead. Lowes and Home Depot have been packed the last month or so thanks to Covid. Now almost a ghost town. Weird.

Thank you so much for making this thread, carey. This is such a weird time, and it's nice to have a little community here of people who genuinely care about each other. Thanks also to those sharing the status about their families and how they're doing.

My family is managing as best as can be expected. We are staying home and barely setting foot out the door except for an occasional walk around the block. We don't go out to eat or even order out; we're making all our own food, leaving the house only to go buy groceries.

My wife and I both work in tech jobs, and we're doing so from home. In general that works out fine, but we have two small children (our daughter is 2 years old and our son is 10 months old), and since all the day care centers have been closed, we've been watching the kids all day while trying to work. Frankly it's pretty tough; the kids require a lot of attention, and our work productivity is pretty bad. My wife has had to do several big meetings with a kid on her lap and I've gotten way less done than usual. I worry sometimes about poor job performance being a reason for possible termination for either of us if times get tougher. But overall we're blessed to have our health and our jobs and generally haven't faced any horrible circumstances so far.

My son, wife, and I all had a *really* bad bug right around the end of February. Fever, hacking cough, shortness of breath. As the virus has raged on we became more and more sure that we must have had COVID-19. But my wife got an antibody test last week and came up negative, so maybe it was just some other bug.

carey, same offer extends to you: How are you doing? Are you and your family okay? Send me a PM if you want to talk. I hope all's well and am thinking of you during this time.

I’ve noticed this is a very common phenomenon.

Good to “see” you Carey and thanks for starting the thread but you didn’t say how you and your family are doing. Let us know.

My family has been fine. I don’t think any of us have even been sick in this time frame. Even my 81-year-old mother in Arizona is doing well. I’m lucky to have a tech job that’s been unaffected. Been working from home going on the 3rd month now. My oldest son lives in NY but was able to get out of town and has been living with his girlfriend’s parents on the suburbs of Boston. He has been able to work remotely. My youngest son moved to Santa Cruz in early February. He was all set to start his first real job out of college in the 3rd week of March but got called the Friday before telling him the job was on hold. The good news is he was able to start this job last week! No more food stamps and unemployment checks for him.

Congrats! Glad to hear it’s finally happening. I’m giving serious consideration to being an Arizona snowbird when I retire. I could finally get my Suns season tickets and then get out of Dodge when the heat hits. Just hope they don’t push the start of the season too far back permanently. I’m hearing Christmas start this upcoming season.

I am hearing Christmas start from now on. There is no need to compete with the NFL when they can both exist without overlap.

My wife and I have been fine, thankfully. I got laid off at the end of April, but luckily was able to land a new, much higher paying role that I will be starting on Monday. I had the antibody test done for my new job and it came back positive. I do recall feeling a little off for a few days in February, but nothing alarming. My wife felt the same in January and looked back in her journal and she noted multiple days of not feeling well. She is also immunocompromised a bit with Lyme Disease and we should be getting her antibody results back today. I know we can't put much stock into these results, but it would all make sense. I've been limiting my trips out in public, but will go to the store every 10 days or so, and I have gone to Home Depot a few times, the UPS Store, etc. However, I'm always wearing a mask and bring bleach wipes in my pocket to wipe my hands down immediately after leaving and then again after I get in my car.

I worry the most about my 90 year old grandmother, who lives with my uncle in Maine. She has a host of issues and can't really leave the house. My uncle goes out once a month for essentials, but if she gets it, she's toast.

aging parents/grandparents are a huge concern for us, too. Actually, neither of us have surviving grandparents anymore, but our parents are all over 65 now and that has us worried, especially since they are in AZ.

My father is 67 and still going to work every day. He claims there are only two people in his area, so he's safe. He's stubborn as hell, and has hypertension, cholesterol issues, has had skin cancer and 2 re-occurrences of prostate cancer. He's also a firefighter (obviously not active really anymore) and was an EMT, so I give him some leeway because he obviously knows how to keep himself safe, but still. My in-laws are both 70+ and "aren't going to stop living their lives", although when they do go out, they wear masks, bring wipes and wipe off their entire bodies when they get home.

Good for him. Retiring is the worst thing for people. Sure they get time off but, they generally end up in front of a TV for the rest of their lives and they activity goes way down.

My family and I are all good. I'm back at work, as is my wife. My boys are hoping to get back to work soon, but as they are all lifeguards right now, they haven't opened up the pools or gyms they work for.

My niece, who is immune compromised and has a feeding tube, contracted COVID-19 in Washington state, but recovered very quickly. The rest of her family didn't seem to get it, but can't be sure. They were never tested though, just quarantined.

Thanks. I'm glad their family is all ok. It would have been horrible if something happened to any of them.

I am glad that everyone is doing all right for the most part. Carey, thanks for putting it together.

I'm still out in Hong Kong and COVID is functionally extinct here -- but we have our own problems to worry about. But this should be the kind of thing that should be ok if we keep our heads down. I am worried about my parents in Phoenix, though. They've started going to church (masked, thankfully) and eating out at restaurants.
