Game Day (C19 Scrimmage 2): Suns (26-39) @ Celtics (43-21), Sun 7/26/20

Post by Superbone »

Time: 10:30 am AZ (10:30 am PT/ 1:30 pm ET)
Place: HP Field House, Orlando, FL
TV: FSAZ+/NBALP

Early start on Sunday morning. Game 2 of 3 of our scrimmages before our first of eight final 'regular' season games. This will be a good test against a tough, well-coached Boston team. My understanding is the Rubio will start at PG.

Go Suns!!!

Hopefully just precautionary but after the second slip, Book looked like he might've pulled something. Was stretching/shaking things out a bit.

I'm not thrilled with your name calling but I too am psyched! After the initial scoring, we led the Jazz game wire-to-wire. Even though we only have a 1% chance of making the playoffs, this is valuable time for the team and I'm even more psyched for next year! Luckily, we'll have a shortened off-season.

Some nuggets from Monty Williams' pregame availability:

* Ricky Rubio is back in the Suns' starting lineup, per the Suns. He arrived late in Orlando after testing positive for COVID-19.

* Monty on what he'd like to see today: "I'd like to see some carryover from the last game. The defensive intensity, making adjustments coming out of the timeouts offensively and defensively. And then maybe seeing a few combinations that could help us in this restart. He mentioned the three-guard grouping of Ty Jerome, Jevon Carter and Cam Payne alongside either Frank Kaminsky, Mikal Bridges or Cam Johnson at the power forward spot providing "radical pace and a little bit of controlled chaos."

* Elie Okobo has arrived in Orlando but is not available to play today. Players must quarantine upon arriving in the bubble. Aron Baynes (COVID-19 positive) and Jalen Lecque (personal reasons) are still not with the Suns.

It’s supposed to be on FSAZ+ now, but isn’t.

I was trying to watch it there too. Ugh. If you have the fox sports go app you can watch it there. That's what I resorted to. *Edit* to add that in the app it says PHX vs MIN for some reason

Some slow/sloppy play early on and a lot of bricks thrown up, Cs start off 7-0, we come back with an 8-0 run. Afternoon start so both teams looks a little sluggish. I feel like we have the size and some favorable matchups against the Cs. Would like to see Ayton featured more in the paint given their lack of size.
