They also laid off about 30 people within the org recently.

I get that the team is a business and that comes with certain expectations of revenue/profitability, but all the best organizations in the league view player development and scouting as critical investments to building a successful operation. We seem to be gutting those departments left and right.

I think it's fair to say if we're ever good, it will be in spite of ownership and not because of it.
I am doubling down on the hope that he is cutting costs to make the team more appetizing to an investment group. NBA teams probably hold their value better than the rest of the market as a whole, so now would be a great time to sell and invest in some companies that have fallen quite a bit this year.

I honestly can't even blame Sarver for selling the Gleague team and other owners have been or will begin to lay off staff. It's economics at this point. What I don't like is that he obviously made Jones put his name on it as a basketball decision.

If he's looking to sell, they better keep the team in Phoenix. Let's get Nash and Chuck to form an investment group. I got $5 on it.

Well, Ryan McDonough picked an odd time to join Twitter today...Need to see a verification...but also maybe not since this has quite a Suns-y feel to it.

Yay, everyone gather round for another bout of "Look at how terrible Robert Sarver is as an NBA owner."

This week, the theme is that he's not actually that rich. Just like the theme from last time only with Dr. Thunder.

Two pretty pennies past a pig pen? What does that even mean?

Also: As much as I hate Sarver, I don't think it's a good look for McDo to join Twitter and repeatedly trash his former boss. Shouldn't he be the bigger man and show some class? Why hire a GM who's going to bash you mercilessly after he's gone?

Pretty sure if those are the posts, it's a fake account.

The account is apparently real, the tweets are photoshopped except for the goats tweet.

I really wish we had just gone with "these are difficult times...tough choices have to be made...we are still committed to winning."

Those bullet points are a joke.

I agree. This is about finances first and foremost. They tried to sound like this is part of some well thought out strategy, but it just comes across as an admission that they don't know how to use their G-League franchise effectively.

In unrelated news, ESPN obtained a memo sent to 29 NBA teams regarding the draft lottery. This is one of the graphics included in it; don't know what to make of it:
