I watched the last game on a half hour delay with my brother in law who is staying with us. Half way through the fourth quarter he thought it would be funny to ask Siri the score of the game out loud twice. So NOT cool. I will be watching todays game alone locked in my bedroom.
I'd kick that guy out. what an asshole.

Great job of quote that says absolutely nothing. The cynical side to me trying to read between the lines thinks it just comes down to Sarver's bank balance and not on-court performance.
I just got a bad taste in my mouth. Thanks.

Yeah. Your brother in law sounds like a prick.

I'm sorry, truly.

We should be celebrating a great run to end the season, but there's a dark cloud on the horizon and everyone who follows this team like we do should see it.

He is well known for doing uncool things. You can’t choose your inlaws.

This right here is easily the biggest thing for Ayton. He took as many free throws as our rookie catch and shoot 3-D wing? Our 2nd year 3-D wing took more? Our pass first pg doubled him in attempts? Our ground bound backup 5 tripled him in attempts? It’s really unacceptable and something that needs to change.

He was at least awake in this game, but he missed badly an alley oop, passed outside when he was under the basket at least twice...
It's maddening

Yeah, I'd much rather have him averaging at least 5 FTA than 3 3PTA next season.

Agreed, him rolling hard and attacking the rim out of the post is what I most want to see. He’s a very efficient shooter in the paint, him getting to the line would make him an elite scorer in the paint. He’s a good ft shooter, we just need to get him to be aggressive.

I don’t know, maybe saucy is right and you can’t teach that. That’s why sometimes I just think, maybe we should let him
take a bunch of 3’s. Or let’s just trade him for Giannis this offseason when Giannis tells Milwaukee he’s not coming back.

If I'm being honest, I'm surprised he had that many.

I disagree. It gives me some hope they won't overreact to the bubble success.

I think every player is different. I just watched a clip of them talking about how Booker was just a spot up shooter not long ago. He has worked on his mid range game a lot. He was forced to be a PG and has developed his passing. Amare was criticized for being a guy that dunks and nothing else when he came into the league. He developed his shooting as time went by.

Ayton is young and I’m sure he and Monty are well aware of his shortcomings. Ayton’s defense was awful his rookie year. Now they talk about how much it has improved. I have been disappointed in his aggressiveness around the rim. As disappointed as I am in it, I certainly am not ready to give up on him. He is already a double double machine and an intimidating presence around the basket. He may never become an aggressive player around the basket. Then again he might. I am more than willing to wait and see.

Ya I’m not giving up on Ayton by any means. He’s incredibly talented, and even with his shortcomings, he’s quite valuable to us. Just feels like him realizing his star potential is the easiest and most logical way we become legitimate contenders. With what Booker is, Ayton becoming a hyper efficient big who can collapse the defense on his rim runs, draw double teams in the post, and rack up fouls/FT’s when teams don’t double, plus being a good defensive anchor, would be huge. Bridges and Cam look like ideal role players next to them and Oubre can be that 3rd scorer(would love him as a 6th man). At that point we’re just a future starting pg(doesn’t need to be a star, think George Hill in his prime) and a couple role players off the bench away from contending.

If Ayton is just a “gets his numbers in the flow of the game guy” he’s valuable, but that’s still just a guy. Not a star. We’d still need a true #2 alongside Booker.

Just what you want out of your only #1 pick in over 50 years.

I guess, like Jones, we shouldn't over react to these 8 games. If these 8 games came in January and then we went back to playing how we did the rest of the season, we wouldn't be so impacted by recency bias.

We saw some really amazing defense from Mikal, some really great back up PG play from CP, some really good PF play from CJ and Dario, and superstar level play from Booker. Not to mention Carter's continued great defense/energy and amazing 3P shooting.

But we really have to see what that means for long-term success and how to build on it for next season (which starts when again? Like in 10 weeks if games start in December?).

I think Michelle Roberts said next season would be sometime between end of January and early March. Can't have these teams playing until October and then starting up 2 months later. CBA has to be revised, draft, maybe a winter league for rooks and then training camp.

got it. Maybe I remember December from before they knew if they would get to finish this season.
