Do we have evidence that Ty Lue is a good coach? I know he has some experience, but has he accomplished more than replacement-level performance in the situations he's been put in?
I mean he coached 3 years and went to the finals all 3. Of course he had Lebron all 3 years, but hard to find fault. He’s definitely deserving of a head coaching job. He was also an assistant with the clippers, so I’d guess they have a pretty good idea what they’re getting and how they’re players feel about him.

MikeD may also consider an assistant role under Nash in BK. Doc is in Philly, Lue in LA....MikeD was said to be a candidate for Indy. Haven't seen him linked to NOLA. He's also familiar with the NYC area from his time with the Knicks.

I've seen something about SVG to NOLA.

I'v wondered if Mike D would want tot work as an assistant. He's getting old. Does he still want to be The Man and does he still want the day to day grind of the nba lifestyle?

I was thinking the same thing. Be a lead assistant/associate head coach under his guy Nash on a team (on paper) that's ready to win. I feel like Indy and the market would be a good fit and he was an assistant there some 20 years ago, but he's pushing 70 and you'd think this would be a last gig for him.

I was thinking the same, but maybe under Gentry wherever he lands. Hadn't considered Steve. lol

Nash would probably be a dream boss for Mike.

I do wonder if Gentry gets a new gig this year. I don't know what else NOLA thought they would get out of that team, but I also don't think Gentry has a reputation as a top coach.

He's with the Kings as associate head coach. Unless you mean after next season?

No, I just forgot about that.

I didn't know he had any connection with Luke. I wonder if that was Luke's hiring or if the front office brought him in.

Wow, that's surprising considering some of the other names out there and linked to the Pacers. Maybe they want some of that Raptors magic.

I remember Nate when he was the head boys coach at Cactus Shadows High School. Tbh, I never thought he was all that good or smart back then. Maybe I wasn't smart enough to appreciate or see it though.

Strange hire. I wonder if they had to go outside the box because other more prominent coaching candidates didn't want to go to Indiana. You'd think given their talented young roster, they could get somebody exciting to be their new coach.

SVG was a pretty good broadcaster, but he belongs back in coaching. Not sure about the fit with the Pelicans, but I know he'll work hard.

SVG is a good coach. He'll do well, I think.

But welcome to the West. Competition is a lot tougher out here.

No joke. We could take a big leap forward and still miss the playoffs. A few good teams definitely will.
