Suns News: Week 3 1/4-1/10

Post by carey »

Last night was simultaneously disappointing & amazing. Most teams would have folded down 31 but we clawed our way all the way back & I think that is the mark of a true contending squad. Let's get a win Wednesday at home versus Toronto so we can head out on that three game road trip on a positive. Also we get a couple early games for us CST and EST time zoners.

Last Week's Games

vs. NOLA WIN! 111-86
@ Utah WIN! 106-95
@ Denver WIN! 106-103
vs. L.A. Clippers Loss 112-107

This Week's Games

Wednesday, Jan. 6th vs. Toronto 9:00 PM EST
Friday, Jan. 8th @ Detroit 7:00 PM EST
Saturday, Jan. 9th @ Indiana 7:00 PM EST

Early games will be nice for me! Glad there are a few days until the next game and it's at home again so there should be some better recovery time. Don't want to overlook the East Coast teams, just need to make sure Mikal, Cam and Jae get their offense right.

I didn't see a way we were going to win at Utah, then @Denver on a back to back AND beat the Clips 2 nights later. I think I prefer getting wins at utah and denver than splitting the back to back. Either way, let's move on and get that #1 seed back.

yes those 3 teams in a 4 night stretch was a good barometer test and I will say it easily showed more positives than negatives

We responded well last night to getting smacked in the mouth, the guys were definitely shook/rattled/panicked whatever else u wanna say in that Clippers 2nd quarter run so obviously despite the comeback I'm sure there will be alot for Monty to address.
Trying not to get too far ahead though lol but let's attack these next games

I don't think a +70% win rate is sustainable into the season (despite me picking them to do that for the entire season in our poll!). After these next 10 games we will be nearly a quarter of the way through the season (24%). I hope we can come away 7-3. That would put us at 12-6 with a 67% win rate. That would be on pace for a 55 win season in a normal year.

vsTOR, atDET, atIND, atWAS, vsATL, vsGSW, vsIND, atMEM, atHOU, vsDEN
Those all look like winnable games to me. ATL will be tough, and IND as well. I don't see why we can't win most of these games.

If we keep this same winning percentage for the rest of the season, we will be the #1 seed. :)

Every game is winnable with this team. That's just not how it works as we saw with the Clippers game.

7-3 seems about right to me, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them go 6-4 or 8-2.

ESPN has the Suns 7th with their Power Rankings today after the 2-3 Heat and Milwaukee.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I’d have preferred CJ instead of Crowder, because I think that will be our best lineup going forward.

(I’m not complaining about Crowder starting, even if CJ is better. He still gets his minutes either way.)

It was a tough break that the Suns had to play the Kings before their inevitable shit show phase. Not that the Suns effort in that game was worthy of a win, but still..

Deandre Ayton is leading our team in And1s.

Book has 17 Bad Pass TOs--The other 14 players have 24.

I would hope so. I would expect the number to be even higher though.
