You know excitement about the team is high when the game day thread is posted the morning before the game.

Time to see if Ayton continues his good play vs. Jokic, whom he's played well against.

He usually does really well against Denver. It is his 2nd highest ppg split at 22.0 ppg. Only Chicago is higher.virtual9mm wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 9:39 amTime to see if Ayton continues his good play vs. Jokic, whom he's played well against.

Even more so when it's a day and a morning before the game like this one.

I just want to see the aggressive Ayton again. Tear down the rim! Earn your Dominayton name.Indy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 9:53 amHe usually does really well against Denver. He looks a completely different beast when he is aggressive. Long may it continue. I liked Paul and Booker both saying they will continue to be on him to do it every night. Lets hope it works.Nodack wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 11:37 pmI just want to see the aggressive Ayton again. Tear down the rim! Jalen Smith should be available.

Let's hope Ayton continues dominAyton this game.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Really hope Jalen Smith gets some minutes. He's been gone such a long time; it's odd. He can't be much worse than Kaminsky in those same minutes, right? If he can just catch a ball and get an occasional rebound, that'd be an improvement.

Frank is limited in so many ways, but he really does know where to be and knows his role. Jalen had no training camp, no real season in college, and has been out for most of this season. I think it will take a long time for him to catch up and just be able to know where to be on the court.

It would do a lot of Ayton's confidence if we performed well over these next 2 games. That would give him a 4 game stretch of consistently impacting the game offensively and defensively.
Looking forward to seeing Smith play well. However, a part of me wonders that if he really underperforms this year, perhaps Jones will be willing reconsider whether taking the best perceived roster fit should always trump talent (see Haliburton).

That avatar reminds me of Nick Cannon for some reason.
