I feel like we'd look pretty good with Rubio and Oubre right about now.
Rubio is shooting 18% from 3 and scoring 6 points a game.
I caught a bit of him playing today and it was brutal - he looks a shadow of the player he was with us.
Rubio - .340 FG%, .185 3P%, .824 FT%, 3.1 reb, 5.7 ast, 6.1 pts
Oubre - .359 FG%, .221 3P%, .768 FT%, 5.6 reb, 1.3 ast, 11.7 pts
Baynes - .387 FG%, .244 3P%, .500 FT%, 5.2 reb, 0.7 ast, 5.2 pts

Baynes is starting to come to life in the last few games, but nothing compared to what he did in Phoenix.

Still amazing how three guys can fall off the face of the earth like that.

Maybe Kyrie Irving can shed some light on it.

Oubre likes to feed off of the energy of the crowd.
With COVID lockdown for NBA crowds, he's a stranger in a strange land ...

I think all of those guys liked being on the Suns and wanted to be part of the big picture. I think getting traded from a team you really liked hurts a little. I wonder how much that factors in on their play the next year.

Agreed. We had a good thing here with that group and now they've been split up and are either on worse teams or teams whose style doesn't really fit with theirs. Maybe we just sold high on them at the right time. Rubio's a year older and had a career year shooting the ball so he might've regressed. The contract issue with Kelly would be hanging over us as well as the possibility that he'd want to be featured more. Baynes I thought we would've been wise to keep; not sure how that situation played out.

But it's not unlike some of the guys who played well on the 7SOL teams and left in trades or FA and fell off - Tim Thomas, Steven Hunter, even Matrix on the Heat or Duds and Diaw in Charlotte.

I do miss Baynes. Imagine having him play all the backup C minutes behind Ayton rather than depending on Kaminski. Probably would have netted us a few wins in these close games we seem to keep losing. Also Baynes could take closing minutes in games where Ayton just doesn't have it for whatever reason. But I don't know if I would have wanted to keep Baynes on a big contract. I guess the question is, would you rather have Baynes or Crowder? Since that's who we spent the cap space on. I'd say it's close. Crowder has had some really nice games for us lately, but he does feel a bit unnecessary with Bridges, Johnson, and other swings already on the roster.

Tucker is not what we're missing.
Which means it a very Suns move to make.
Exactly.

Shel gets pushback on this statement because of how poorly these guys are playing, but I don't think they would be playing that bad in Monty's system.

Regardless, it was the right move to trade these guys. Rubio had a career year, but you aren't going to get that from him again. The Suns need to cash in. If they had no desire to resign Oubre, then it was essential that they move him.

Dame killed the Bulls with another buzzer beater.
There's any NBA player who thrives more than him in that situation?

saw your post and was like Oh no big deal, Dame doing Dame
just watched the highlights tho and man what a way to lose for the Bulls smh. I think Lavine improves every year and is a really talented player but they seem to find new ways to lose

Now, now, be nice to Rodney. He’s shooting .800/.667/1.000 on the season. ;)

Wow :o
Joker just went 13/17 from the field and has 33pts at half time lol (79-54 score). Nuggets looking to emphatically end Jazz 11 game winning streak

Clearly after battling DA, he is finding Gobert to be light work :)
