Holy shit!!! What an absolutely devastating way for the Mavs to lose. I almost feel bad, but nah.
It's not quite as bad as what Denver did to us, back-to-back OT & 2OT.

Considering DA's general aloofness on the offensive end, and Cam, Mikal and Jae combining for 2-14 from deep (not to mention some shady ref calls), I'm shocked they were able to pull this one out. Very satisfying, and made a little sweeter by Puka missing that potential game winner

Paul kept them in it, and Booker got hot when they needed him to ...
First game of the year we can say our two best players played like our two best players.

The "Luka for MVP" predictions this preseason were way premature.

He's a great offensive player, but he dominates the ball, is a spotty outside shooter and isn't any help on the defensive end. Put that together with Dallas not being very good and he's not in the MVP race.
It doesn't matter. If the Mavs win 4 of 5 games he'll be back in the MVP discussion. The media loves to filate him.

Well done.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Ayton had a solid first half and a brutal second half. He’ll figure it out by season’s end. This team has potential, Ayton and Bridges being consistent on both ends is the key for this team to go far.

Rewatching that final play... that was something. And Devin doesn't get that shot without a great screen from DA.

I liked 17 rebounds by Ayton, but almost everything else was subpar. Too many mental mistakes and tepidness under the rim.
So true, unfortunately. It's so tough to watch him play sometimes.

Such a great win. And I love OKCCP3 giving credit to the coaching staff for drawing up the winning play.

He's become much more of a stretch big, content on taking 28ft 3s. He needs to coached and pushed to take closer shots but everyone sort of treats him with kids gloves.
I expected so much more out of him under Carlisle.
I wonder how invested Carlisle is at this point. There are so much about the Mavs now that don't mesh with what he has done with his teams in the past.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

Funny one for y'all

So I'm at work as per usual and so earlier in my shift I checked my fantasy team and saw Book was gonna be playing.
Logging on to the system to do a couple things before peeping at the game and my Log In is not working which just happens to be a play on Book's name. I try different variations as I'm confused and then eventually get locked out....

Not saying I'm superstitious but :) I'm like what sort of weird omen is this before the game starts smh lol and as the game winds down I'm like if we lose this after this strange thing I will be quite perplexed

Crisis averted

What makes it tough for me aside from the aforementioned things, is that there are nights where he looks like one of the big four centers from the 1990s

For sure. Surprised at the 17. I went to look at his turnovers and was shocked at only 2. He literally lost the ball at least 7 times. 😂😂
