Game Day: Suns (22-11) @ Lakers (24-11), Tues 3/2/21

Post by bajanguy008 »

Time: 8:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
TV: FSAZ/TNT

Ok folks, Yuuuuge game tonight with the added emotion for us fans that comes with playing the Lakers but we're not going in just hoping not to be embarrass like recent seasons but legit contending this year so looking to make a statement 8-) . I have been making my opinion known across multiple threads that Lakers minus AD aren't the Championship juggernaut and they struggled some last month. Schroeder return did lead to some better play and they blew out the Warriors in the last game.

Regardless, I believe we can take these guys and as is the case with most matchups I'm not seeing who can check Book on their team. Their length last year made them very tough on D and gave us problems on the glass but that advantage is gone so as per usual once we play a solid 48 we will be fine.

Go Suns!!!

BTW...
I am seeing that this is the 1500 Topic in the Suns/NBA Forum so that's cool 8-)

Give yourselves a hand for reviving the site and being the best spot to talk Suns. Let's celebrate with a win !! :)

This is the biggest game of the year so far. If you can’t get up for this game you have no pulse.

Sink the Lakers!

If the Suns win by 40 I think you might have to change your name.

I was going to leave a comment along the lines of "we always lose nationally televised games," but then I checked and that's not strictly true, at least so far this year. Although, during the current 14-3 stretch, two of the losses (the Feb. 3 blowout loss at New Orleans, and the Feb. 16 second-half meltdown against the Nets) were on ESPN and TNT, respectively, so maybe that's why it seems like that's the case.

Overall, we're right at .500 combined on ESPN (3-2, season opening win vs. Dallas, win at Houston, OT loss vs. Denver, previously-mentioned Pelicans game and the one-point escape vs. Milwaukee) and TNT (1-2, big win over New Orleans at the end of December, bad loss at Memphis in mid-January, and the aforementioned Nets disaster) -- but 4-0 on NBA-TV (wins at Utah, at Dallas, and home against Boston and Philadelphia). 8-4 in televised games exactly matches our overall winning percentage.

Note that I'm going off a published schedule, and it's possible that some of those games didn't end up being televised as scheduled.

We can beat these guys. I believe in our team. I want to see everybody give a good effort and play hard as hell tonight, and I'll be happy whatever the outcome. A win here would be a nice statement for us. Hoping for another big night for Booker!

I'm pretty stoked for this game also.

I just don't want a repeat of the New Orleans or Brooklyn game. No blowouts or ridiculous blown leads in the second half.

No Anthony Davis so anything less than a blowout is a win for the Lakers.

Thats basketball.

I got an idea for a new league.

8 minute periods.

Score resets after each period.

If score is tied at the end of a period, next point wins.

Best of 7 takes the game.

I shall call it.....DSF...League?

What % of NBA games are within 2 possessions in the last 5 minutes of the game? Like +85%?

Exactly. The big complaint of the NBA is you dont have to watch until the fourth quarter.
