Suns News: Week 13 3/15-3/21
Re: Suns News: Week 13 3/15-3/21
We don't know much of anything about Ayton having a child other than that he does, right? Do we know for a fact that it was an accident and not planned?
Craig was starting for Denver for most of last season. He hits the occasional 3, doesn't really put the ball on the floor as much so he's basically a more physically mature version of last year's Mikal maybe? He was on the practice squad for the Olympics team last year IIRC. I like him, but I also would have preferred that we got a bit more big man depth. I like that Carter for Birch idea. Or if we can somehow get our hands on Bamba without giving up a first, that would be intriguing.

I think we need the D/Rebounding type of big more than a stretch big. I think Birch can play with Dario or Frank if need be. Muscala's a big who doesn't play big. He may as well be another Crowder-type.
And I'm as intrigued about Caboclo as you, but I think it's time for us to admit that he either A) sucks or B) may top out as a player who can only "succeed" in low-leverage situations. I can't see him getting a significant rotation minute for a team with championship aspirations.

I sincerely wish DA the best with his new child.

Is Caboclo no longer 2 years away from being 2 years away?Shabazz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:55 pmI think we need the D/Rebounding type of big more than a stretch big. To your point, maybe this will mature him faster.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:28 pmYes I joked around but wasn't throwing shade

Let's just hope it teaches him how important it is not to drop things.

I had one of these lined up and decided not to post it. Felt like a low blow.
I like Ayton from what I've seen of him as a person. I have absolutely no problem with anyone having a child, planned or not, if they are dedicated to caring for them and raising them to be a good person.

agreed. you have to know that is the most important thing in your life, and everything else comes second. Especially dunking.
Re: Suns News: Week 13 3/15-3/21
It would be nice if dunking came second in his life.
Re: Suns News: Week 13 3/15-3/21
I don't think a player like Birch will see the floor much on this team. I agree we need rebounding/defense, but that won't trump being a fit for the system. Muscala's size would make a difference, even if he isn't a traditional banger. And his 3 -point shot is ridiculous.
He played well in Houston and Memphis. My fear is that he may not be much a professional. He had a quarantine violation in bubble, and I just get the vibe he may not do the things outside of the real games that ingratiates himself to a coaching staff. Kind of an Anti-Jevon.Shabazz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:55 pmAnd I'm as intrigued about Caboclo as you, but I think it's time for us to admit that he either A) sucks or B) may top out as a player who can only "succeed" in low-leverage situations. We missing Cam more than we think? Gotta be a spacing thing, right?

That's interesting. Cam get's labeled as a just a shooter, but he really does a lot of dirty work that goes unnoticed.

Re: Suns News: Week 13 3/15-3/21
Just a question does anyone think we should try to trade Ayton while there are still teams that think they can change his lack of engagement while playing basketball or should we ride it out because he is young and still has plenty of room to grow?
Re: Suns News: Week 13 3/15-3/21
It's all a gamble. Ayton could wake up and all of a sudden become the guy we saw for the 4-game stretch this season and that 7(?)-game stretch last season. Or he could continue to be a wallflower, post decent stats, and be a low-motor role-playing big. It's probably 50/50 at this point.
