Come on man, we all know big men take longer to develop. We just need to give him 5 years at the max to find out if he has it or not.

I don't know why then took Galloway out - he was terrific tonight.
How many bad games has he had? How many times has Monty gone to him and he wasn't effective?
He has been fantastic for his role this year. And hardly gets any time, much less consistent time.
Exactly. Monty has done a good job with the bench, but sometimes it feels like we could use Galloway more than we do.
I think that sometimes, especially when we struggle to score. I get frustrated with his rotations, and how he cools off hot players during games by benching them.

Then I see how guys that get extended bench/DNP-CD time, but step right in and do their job really well. I don't think Monty gets enough credit for how he is handling it.

damn i'm so sick of hearing Ayton get written off every forum or web page I open, he's having a slump that's it.. he's shown he can be good, and yes a lot of us expect him to be better and hey may not get there, but he's hardly a bust or trash or expendable.

He’s not really slumping. If he was just missing shots or something I’d live with it, but he’s just not impacting the game at all. I’m glad you still have faith in him, and I hope you’re right and I’m wrong, but I don’t see it.

Until he starts playing with any consistency, get used to it.

A 2.5 year slump!

One of the first comments I wrote here after the Suns traded for Paul was that we'd find out if Ayton has what it takes to be a great player.

It was time for him to sink or swim, and he's been underwater for weeks now.

This.

You just can't float in and out of being useful and useleton team with a window this small. If we don't do something with Paul here I'd expect Booker to ask out, and we be back at square one. Ayton just isn't reliable.

Again, if he was missing shots or assignments but his overall effort and intensity matched the rest of the team that is young and hungry, that’s acceptable as a young developing big man. He has the IQ and skills of a young man and the effort and desire of a 20 year vet in the dog days of the regular season.

I think James Jones would get the OK to trade Ayton at any cost to keep Booker on the Suns.

Ayton will 100% be traded this off season if he doesn’t turn things around...well I’d say we 100% will try to trade him.

It isn't the on-ball defense that says he is lazy. It is the watching him never run back on defense that tells me he is lazy. Or unfocused. Same result.

I think you could argue that the fact he switches off is lazy

Some advice for DA: one way to avoid getting in foul trouble against the star big man you’re covering is to, you know, get them in foul trouble instead.

Hard to do that with turn arounds/fade aways and dribbling away from the hoop.

Just gonna go a different route here as I watched the game on delay and just didn't bother posting

I was super disappointed in Book. I will give credit to Okogie, solid defender, no chirping or anything just trying his best to make Book work. Again for me, it's not about missed shots or turnovers but if Book let's physical play or the refs get in his head which then lead to poor play.

I'm always watching for his composure and that's been one of my main things about his growth. Don't see those type of unraveling games from Book much anymore and it was not cool to watch. Think he missed 9 or 10 straight and finished like 6/18 shooting. We all know Playoffs comes down to stars making plays when both teams know everything you're running on O. I am concerned that if Book still isn't getting the respect from the Refs now, what will change in the Playoffs.....

We as fans can say yea he has a beef, the calls were BS or whatever but that doesn't help when we get an L. Hope it doesn't lead to other games where he's super frustrated and takes himself outta the game. Anyways, let's see how this regular season plays out first

Well, let's hope he gets it out of his system during the regular season because it's going to get worse in the playoffs. He needs to learn to play through it.

My concern is that the team is devolving into Booker scoring a bunch of points, surrounded by a bunch of guys content to score 8-10 points. That isn't going to take us far in the playoffs. Paul has shown the ability to flip a switch and take over, like he did in the second game against the Wolves, but I wonder if that is sustainable.

As of right now, I don't think this team is ready for the playoffs. They probably wouldn't go very far if the playoffs started today. It's an open question whether or not they will be able to withstand playoff basketball this season, when it's the first time experiencing it for the team and for many of the key players.
