Whatever he is doing, he needs to maximize he next contract. These guys get 10-12 years if they are extremely lucky. Got to make the most while you can, because he may never work again after he turns 32.

Well, stories like this work against him to maximize his contract.

Regardless of who said what, Igoudala and Oubre were in different stages of their career so their roles with the Warriors aren't analogous.

Igoudala was entering his twilight, hunting for a ring. Oubre is in his prime and trying to get the biggest bag possible.
Agreed, Kelly is trying to establish himself as a big time player...he may ultimately settle in as a bench player in the league, but hard to fault him for wanting to be more at this point.
I think it's worth noting that Iguadala's number were really diminished by the time he started coming off the bench.

2010-11 14.1 ppg
2012 12.4 ppg
2013 13.0 ppg
2014 9.3 ppg
2015 7.8 ppg --> reserve

I don't mean to diminish Iggy's game. Give the choice between the 2, I would take Iggy every time. He was a very smart creator and distributor and one of the best defenders in the league. But Kelley is definitely in a different situation.

I disagree. Starting players are paid more than bench players.

Loved Kelly when he was here but I'm so glad we avoided that situation this year.

Except he’s not a starter on a winner. And now every team that would consider signing him as a sixth man is going to run away

Only takes one team to think he's a starter for them. The risk is worth it for Oubre.

Oh, great. The Jazz lost the game just before they play us.

I'm not scared of the Jazz.

Well, if we beat them on Wednesday, we’ll only by 1.5 games behind them for best record in the L. I wonder when was the last time that they lost two in a row?

Twice this season, all of them road games. Most recently at Philly and New Orleans in March, and at Brooklyn and New York (back-to-back) in January.

What would it have taken for us to get Gordon?

I assume Crowder or Saric + Mikal and a 1st. I am not sure they would have taken a package that didn't include Mikal unless we wanted to give up DA instead.

Should have done the Oubre for Gordon trade.

Hmm, Mikal straight up would be a no for me. Denver gave up Harris(bad contract), RJ Hampton(decent prospect), and a 1st, right?

Problem is we wouldn’t really have anything they’d want. Cam Johnson maybe could replace Bridges as the prospect...though I think Orlando would have had more interest in RJ. Don’t think there was a way to beat the Denver offer without giving up Mikal.

We just would have traded him for CP3 and Gordon would be on the Warriors now.
