Game Day: Bulls (19-26) @ Suns (32-14), Wed 3/31/21

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Phoenix Suns Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: BSAZ, NBALP

Da Bulls come to town Wednesday night. It's also the debut of the rebranded Bally Sports Arizona broadcast. Don't expect to see any matador defense from the Suns. These are not your father's Suns. A chance for revenge against Vucevic since he was traded from the last team to beat us. LaVine is questionable as he's dealing with an ankle sprain.

Go Suns!!!

Obviously it's a different game if LaVine doesn't play, but the Bulls probably think they should've beaten the Suns last month in Chicago. The Bulls blew a 12 point halftime lead and the Suns clamped down in the fourth quarter. Frank kinda saved the day with 15 points in 13 minutes, and 35 team assists helped overcome a poor 27% from 3-point range.

They've lost 4 in a row, 2 of which have come since the trade, and they're 4-8 since they last played the Suns. Their wins have been over two "bad" teams (OKC, DET) and two Jekyll and Hyde teams (TOR, NO). LaVine and White are both banged up and are questionable to play. My gut is telling me one of them will sit out and one will play.

We should beat these guys, especially without LaVine. Chris Paul hasn't been himself lately, though, so I worry a bit. Our offense late in games has been a bit stagnant and dominated by Booker 1-on-1 play. I love the way our offense hums when guys like Bridges and Crowder are hitting a lot of open 3s and cutting to the basket.

Is Bally Sports just a renaming of Fox Sports, or a whole new channel?

Sinclair bought them a couple years ago and is now re-branding. Not sure if they had it as part of the contract to acquire them that they had to rebrand, or they just wanted to.

If they can get them back on YoutubeTV or HULU, that would be a big win, otherwise...meh.

I feel like Paul could use a game or two off.

Agree. Ridiculous when I lost most Suns games for a legitimate subscription I had on YouTube TV.

They aren't in negotiations with YouTube TV or Hulu and plan on launching their own paid app and subscription, which will also lock you out of in market games unless you have local cable or AT&T TV.

”We are in the process of developing a world-class sports app, to replace the Fox Sports Go App…we expect to launch our app this Spring. The viewing experience will be significantly better, it will enhanced, personalized, interactive, it will have new features, new capabilities, new content around sports, sports betting, the super fan…free to play (betting), rewards, community-based, gamification, stats.”

I just want to watch the games. Why the hell do they all of this gamification and betting crap!?

Also, does anyone else have a problem with how shitty the cameras are for the main view during the games on Fox Sports? Every ESPN or TNT game is so much better. And the other angles are better too. But the main camera feed is crap.

Well not if you don’t have a cable/satellite subscription at all.

True but when I did that a couple season ago, the quality of the online only version sucked. Not sure today.

For league pass? I’ve only ever used the app version online, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it hasn’t changed much over the last couple years so it probably still sucks. There’s a few things I’d fix, but it serves its purpose.

He'll have plenty of time for that with his hamstring injury in the playoffs.
