Australia has a good chance to win that game.

Yes that's gonna be an interesting game
Now seeing my tweet didn't load, basically the select few in the arena along with the Australian bench gave Scola a standing ovation for probably at least 2mins

Ah I was wondering what that was. NBC and the Olympics are being very militant about getting tweets removed that have video of the games. They think that will make people pay for the Peacock service.

I think we (Australia) are a decent chance to push the US but not confident we can win. Happy to be wrong on that obviously! One thing is for sure, the Aussie team will be up for the challenge and won’t back down - but I think on sheer talent we can’t match up.

National team Patty Mills is a different player, much like Rubio. Obviously Team USA has more talent on paper, but the Boomers should feel pretty good about Thybulle on Durant.

As it was in the opening game against France, this one can easily be lost if Team USA settles for 3's and misses. But Australia plays a lot of non-shooters in big roles, so they could also have trouble scoring.

Yep, Australia is in trouble if it’s a shootout. I would like to see how both teams go if it’s a close game down the stretch

I really like this focussed, hard-working Booker defense.

Booker dominated that quarter. What a great sign for his career that on this team of stars, he's been standing out.

I guess it's already over. Just set up a recording on my local NBC where they're showing it during a 5 hour block starting at 10 am tomorrow.

Cool, thanks. Do we know when our next game is?
You can see replays here if you login with your provider. I'm using a Dish account with a VPN and it's been much better than bootleg streams.

I'm pretty certain Team USA will be playing in the later semifinal on Thursday that starts at 9:00PM JST. That'll be Thursday, 8AM EST stateside.
I guess not. Can we try to get an accurate day and time for the Gold medal game and post it here, please?

So this is two games in a row where Team USA started out cold and then came roaring back around the middle of the second quarter. The Boomers were riding high up 15, and then it was over for them. I think the Team USA run was 48-14, but I'm probably off by a few points. Whatever it was, the collective talent on this team can't be matched by any other team in these Olympics and tonight Australia just couldn't match their depth.

Durant will rightfully get the headlines, but once again I think Holiday was so critical for this team. He repeatedly got to the rim and actually took a shot instead of trying to hunt for a kick out 3 pointer. When Team USA finally started to hit some jump shots, it was from our guy Book. He was in one of those rhythms we've seen countless times. It also helped that he was wide open a lot.

I continue to be confused by Lillard. Maybe he's distracted by the Blazers stuff, but he's just been out of it for most of these games. It was good to see LaVine get some shots to drop, but he's also clearly a guy that has a hard time fitting into a role on this team. It's not for a lack of trying, he's just often looked slow to process the game offensively. He's been good defensively.

What the hell happened to Joe Ingles in this game? He hit two three pointers to start the game and finished the game with 8 points. He absolutely disappeared and I'd be pissed if I were pulling for the Boomers. Their ultimate downfall was what I pointed out before the game, they don't have enough shooters even though guys like Exum and the guard (forgot his name) who has a semi-set shot hit a few.

Their coach kinda seems like a dickhead but this is the first time I've watched them closely, so maybe he was just frustrated. The way he pulled all the veteran players with 3 minutes left in the game got a long side eye from me. I'm pretty sure they'll be the underdog against France or Slovenia in the Bronze medal game, so maybe he's trying to send a message.

Edit: I forgot to add, the officials were TERRIBLE in this game. Lots of people like to talk about the physicality of FIBA and how it's better officiated than the NBA, but they were just making outright terrible calls all game. Both coaches were frustrated with the officiating crew.
