Ha ha. Gotta love Bickley's headlines. He's not wasting any time. Will this be part of every game's talking points?

Suns’ season starts off uneasy, just like Deandre Ayton’s contract situation

Interesting player and move for us to make. 6-5 250lb (?!?) swing who looks like he can play on both ends. Just from the SL clips, he seems like a Jones/Monty type. Also this guy's agent reps Thad Young, among others.

Meh, that deep down the rotation I don't expect him to provide much, but it's fine if he's a hard worker and a good practice player. Signing a slightly older player is probably smart for a contending team like ours. But I don't have a ton of faith in him if he can't even crack the awful Raptors roster.

I doubt we'll be "moving on" from talking about the Ayton topic for a long time. We're going to be watching his season with a sharp focus, debating about what he's worth and whether we can/should keep him. Like it or not, this is going to be the dominating topic of our whole season. If he struggles, folks will say he's upset about the contract. If he has a great game, folks will say he's a max player and Sarver/Jones screwed up. Buckle up because we're in for 82 games + playoffs of talking about this. That's just how it is.
His first game matched his MO. Great to start out and then petered out in the 2nd half. Some will say that's him and his conditioning and others will say that it's on the coaching staff and our game plan and that "we stopped feeding him."

We should put a banner saying this on the home page.

Man, I had totally forgotten about Okobo. Crazy how back in the day when we used to pray he’d be any good for us.

Back in the day...2 years ago! I always liked his style of play and thought he could be a nice scoring guard. Might just have been better suited overseas?

I roll over and check my phone at 5:30am on a Saturday morning and see news. So much for sleeping in.

My next reaction after "holy shit" was, "Yeah, of course". It's been a good 10 years since I've known someone working for the Suns, but they told me a bunch of people in the building thought Sarver was all of these things. One I specifically remember was when new Suns dancers were being selected and Sarver apparently told the person in charge they were required to pick the women with the largest breasts, dancing or athletic talent were not a priority.

Before we get any real news on this, it feels a lot like the recent Jon Gruden situation. And much like Sarver, my initial reaction to the news about him was to ask, "Didn't we already know this guy is an asshole?"

Based on the amount of traction this is getting, it's most definitely true. Holy shit.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

IF THIS IS TRUE, this is something we've been hoping for forever. I remember when he first showed up at the arena and he was a dick to multiple people immediately at the game. Like when he was trying to sit in the area near the stanchion that they keep open for a runway, and an employee told him he couldn't sit there. He wanted him fired immediately, until he found out that it was a league rule.
